SBX offered the game worn jerseys from the team. The campus stores (mostly at the Ice Arena) only offered replicas. With SBX gone, I doubt if we'll see the game worn jerseys available in town any more.

It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I'd be okay with a replica, which is what I thought I had seen at SBX.

I think they did carry the replicas, but also would buy the set of jerseys that the team was replacing each year and sell those game worn ones in the SBX store. As I said before, with SBX gone, I doubt if we'll ever see another local opportunity to buy them again (other than an online vendor), which is quite sad. The Ice Arena shop carries the replica jerseys. They had the orange ones the first year they carried them. Last year, they had the brown ones and now they have the cream colored ones, I think.

It would really be sweet if we were to get a locally owned business conveniently located just off campus that would cater to the market of carrying a plethora of BG gear. A place that would carry a bunch of BG themed knick-knacks, and a large clothing/gear selection. If they occasionally carried game worn jerseys that'd be an added bonus. A place that always seemed to have the new cool looks from top quality brands like Under Armour and Nike, ya know?

Wouldn't that be a great place to shop?

From what I hear, the local people from SBX could be back in some form sooner than later.

I've been lurking for awhile but figured this question might be for those in know..Do you think SBX closing had just as much to do with prime real estate as it did with books?

I know I'm getting way off topic, but SBX held prime real estate. If Myles' were to relocate (atleast temporarily) couldn't you see that stretch land being redeveloped to mixed use? 1st floor retail, top floors for apartments. Brand new SBX (minus books) and Myles pizza now on the 1st floor? Way off topic, I apologize but we were already talking business.

I have no idea what will happen. I just wouldn't assume it will be like building that occupies Jimmy John's. Two totally different situations and people involved.

I think that is exactly what will happen. I have heard the leases for SubWay and Pita Pit will not be renewed. That only leaves the computer place. I could see that building come down, and be rebuilt as retail/apartment space. I could also see the Myles property being purchased and either moved into the new space, or closed when Chip finally hangs up the apron. The building would either disappear to become part of the new building or as dedicated parking for tenants. If I were the developer I would offer temporary space to SubWay and Pita pit with a signed agreement to come into the new retail space. Those two, along with the computer place and a new merchandise store would fill the retail space before it is even built. The apartment space will fill easily. The only down side is Greenbriar gets to fill their pockets more.....

The bigger issue you have multiple owners of the property in that building. It's BG, we all know who will get what they want in the end. They always do. Just going to take some time logistically.

There ARE some good options online, even if the university doesn't have an online store. My favorite being: http://bowlinggreenmemories.com" target="_blank You can't get jerseys or stuff like that, but they have some really great designs, and they're BG people! They keep it fresh too, rotating in new designs pretty regularly.

I'm on board. Hopefully this comes to fruition sooner rather than later. I'll be on campus within the next couple of weeks and am dreading having to go to the union just to shop for merch.
