Ohio State predictions
As much as I'd like to fool myself into thinking BG has a decent chance at winning on Saturday, reality slaps me in the face and I come back down to earth. That said, I do think BG will hang around long enough to make it a game, and the combination of Urban not wanting to show too much for Oklahoma and not wanting to run up the score on his former program, BG should cover being +27.5.

Re: Ohio State predictions
I have a feeling this is going to be something like the Tennessee game last year: decent showing on offense, defense gets steam rolled.

I think OSU's offense starts a bit slow but their defense stifles our new(ish) system.

Re: Ohio State predictions
I have two schools of thought. Orange and Brown glasses on, BG 34-28. Realistically, osu 38-21. I 110% believe BG has a chance, albeit not a very good chance. We know what we are facing but our coaches and players seem to have quite a bit of confidence.
The best team doesn't always win...the team that plays best for 60 minutes does. BG MUST go 110% on EVERY play. We cannot afford to take any plays off against these cats or we will pay. Play our game and keep it close for as long as possible. Remember 1992 and 2003. This is no different.

Buckeyes 41 - Falcons 17 I just don't think this one will be close.
Re: Ohio State predictions
I'm feeling like 42-20 and hoping for the best.
I don't forsee a blowout with the connection he has to BG. Surprised none of their fans have graced our board all summer

Re: Ohio State predictions
I don't think Urban will run it up, but I think you'll see them scoring points. Our only chance is if they commit 4-5 turnovers....that isn't happening. 45-10 OSU
Re: Ohio State predictions
I think OSU could put 70+ on BG if they wanted....but will settle for 45-7.

Re: Ohio State predictions
If we keep it closer than the spread I'll be stunned and mostly pleased. This isn't bum tressel not knowing how to blow teams out and this is a coach who knows the threat BG could pose. He's also got a team of hungry young players wanting to make a name for themselves mixed with a couple of vets who have a bad taste in their mouth from last year.
Meanwhile we're trying to replace as much production from our roster as they are, but we're doing it without perennial top recruiting classes.
I expect this to be one of the worst showings bg has had in the shoe. And I don't think it has any bearing on how the rest of the season goes.

They will win....if we emerge with no serious injuries and that $975k check clears, we'll also win.

Re: Ohio State predictions
If I'm being honest, I think OSU wins this pretty easy.
There are some things that I think go in our advantage, though. Even though we replace a ton of losses, they will have a bunch of new guys on the field as well. And I have confidence that our young guys will step up and fill those roles - Redding, Coppet, Miller, Phouthavong, etc. might not have the most experience but these guys are talented and were playing behind NFL guys. I also think Knapke will play very well this year and I think he'll have some success against OSU's secondary. I don't know that it will be enough to keep us in the game, but I don't think he turns the ball over a bunch which limits some scoring opportunities for OSU.
Obviously I think punting will be an advantage and will keep the score down some. The offensive line will also open up enough holes to keep the clock moving, which again limits the damage.
Add all this up and I think we're looking at a 35-14 type of game. That's "pretty easy" for OSU, but I think we're talented enough to keep it close for a little while.
Either way, I'm excited that I'll be there donning orange and brown!

Everyone will be a winner and receive a participation ribbon after the game.

Re: Ohio State predictions
Gotta make JTB beat us with his arm. Athletic QBs who can run have torched us. If he throws for 400 yards and 5 TD's then so be it, but we have to try and contain him on the ground. We lost massive pieces of last year's team including several who could have been back this year. With them I think we run with them for 2.5/3 quarters. Without them, no way in hell.
