Bonehead move by whoever told him to catch it
I would like to know why you even have somebody back deep. That is a move for late in the half/game when you need a desperation return. There is no advantage whatsoever to have somebody back there during the normal course of the game. Not only did it open us up to a boneheaded return. It was one less person to try and BLOCK the kick.
Come up to make a play on a fake...it was a 55 yd kick. I thought they might fake it or punt it
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

A complete and total joke to let this team look like they belong. Until proven otherwise I'm already putting Jinks in the Gregg Brandon realm. Chances are he's actually worse right now.

We better hope he figures his s**t out...if we Louis Orr the football program...good god...
Looked more like Moe Ankney than Gregg

I guess I can see that but then wouldn't you tell the kid to stay as far away from the ball as possible if they do attempt the FG?

To me if they pooch it I'll just let it go anyhow. I don't want my guy risking a turnover in that case either. I can see having a safety back in case of fake though...

That was my worry too about the coaching staff. We'll see if they can pull it off. Either way, good game by ND. Way too close for comfort.

Good game guys .... It became about the kind of game I though. I was actually impressed with out our corners improved over the game, minus giving up the 2 home run balls. Knew that our defense could be susceptible to giving up a big play or two, but was happy with how we limited the run game.

Our offense looked horrific early on, but really turned it on towards the end of the game.

I was really hoping we would have kicked the XP at the end and let our defense do their thing, but I can't blame the coaches for trying to get the win either. Their play call actually worked, receiver just didn't come down with it.

Definitely a disappointing loss, and tough to start 0-2, but I think our team is figuring out what they are capable of, if they play their game. I do expect us to get a win next week, and play a strong in our conference, though we have a weak conference schedule this year. Hope you can watch us in the FCS playoffs, hope we can watch you in a good bowl game, and hope we can watch each other playing some hockey at some point. Best of luck the rest of the way.

Wish I had thrown some money down, we smoked the spread.

I thought they should have kicked the XP too. BG did nearly nothing all second half and have no kicking game. I would have liked those odds with the momentum in OT.

North Dakota deserved to win the game. Period. They played to win, BG played not to lose and should have. This wasn't a case of BG finding a way to win either. We won because their guy couldn't haul in a pass that he could/should have. I honestly felt bad for him and their team. Our OL, which is the most experience line in the NCAA, was handled by an FCS defensive front that often played out of a 3-4. We couldn't open holes or protect well. Our RB's had nowhere to go today. Knapke looks like, well, Knapke of the second half of 2014. If you looked at the box score you'd see decent numbers. But the reality was he had a good first quarter then drifted way off and come the fourth quarter looked like he had zero confidence ofrability to move the chains with a forward pass. Our slots guys in Miller and Moore looked good, but our wideouts are essentially decoys and no threat. Our place kicking? I thought it was going to show its true self last week but waited for today as we missed a chip shot straight on FG and a PAT. The defense as a whole had a battle on its hands all day. Some they won, some they lost. Still can't muster up much of a pass rush and the secondary is just flat out bad. Coaching? We were whipped so bad in the opener that I couldn't even say. But today, we clearly got outcoached. Play calling and decision making was suspect throughout. Jinks looked in over his head today. In the preseason he was talkimg about how we had players who could play in the Big 12, my question is who??? I heard announcers were saying Jinks also said a few guys could be playing on Sundays. Again, who? Davidson might, but he wasn't talking about him. On top of that all, three of our best players (Moore, Coppett and Valdez) were out knocked out of the game with injuries.

No way this team wins the MAC East this year. And I'll be stunned if we finish 6-6 or go to a bowl. This team is a shell of what it's been the previous four years. I knew we were going go take a step back this year. But I didn't expect to see this big of a drop off. Our 2-10 team of 2010 was better than this.

Without this coming off wrong, I like some of what I read here. Its nice to hear some compliments about our coaching staff and players, its also nice to know that you frustrated a opponent that was heavily favored. Unfortunately, at the end of the day, we are still 0-2. Carr truly should have made that catch for 2. Not a bad call to throw it to him, but I would have really liked to have seen Stanley get the throw, he seemed very steady all day.

Definitely proud of the way our boys played, especially after going down 14-0 and looking pretty terrible early on. Just hope we can rally back from 0-2, make the playoffs and go in hot. This team has the potential to do some damage, but we need consistent play, which is always the question.

Few thoughts now that I've had moments to digest ...
- ND played well. Hats off to them. A thin roster played their hearts out and you could see the pain of the loss. They could compete in the MAC East.
- I sincerely hope the whole team wakes up after this game. I saw some laziness and I never want to see that again.
- before Jinks coaches the players, he needs to coach his assistants on in game coaching and what is expected of each assistant in terms of interactions with players
- we threw a total of 6 picks all of last year. We're at six now. QB play has dropped significantly
- Knapke has a ceiling. He is still mentally above Morgan. I wouldn't be stunned if Morgan takes over yet this year as the starter. So much potential.
- defense had moments but wore out late. Against an FCS team that doesn't pass well
- our new AD did not hire Jinks. What is he thinking right now? What if we ... have a losing season?
- Coppet and Moore got hurt. How bad? We need those guys for sure
- on the positive side, Miller is going to be a great one
- Redding finally made a big play for us and it was a great catch
- Cleveland has a great initial burst. If he ever gets into the clear he is gone.
- after each TD, Jinks should look at the scoreboard and consider if going for 2 is worth it. If not sure, go for 2. Example, at one point today a TD gave us a 7 point lead. Go for 2 in that situation because 9 points is a 2 possession lead where 8 points is only 1 possession.

2 follow ups related to next week
- Vanderbilt's offense is awful and they scored 47 on MTSU.
- MTSU has lost 4 starting receivers for the season (according to the coach). I take that as coach speak as of the planned 8 receiver rotation 4 are injured. They only return one significant receiver from last year and he's good - a Ronnie Moore type

What a disappointment! I think we are in real trouble. no motivation on this team at all! We may not win another game!! Get a high school coach, get a high school team.

Lucky to get a win for sure. I felt we'd lose 5 or 6 games this season and my guess is we'll end up around that number maybe 7 losses. MAC football is fairly predictable, I still think we'll win most of our games against the east.

What I really don't understand is how BG and other MAC schools can continue to get away with fake attendance numbers. I'd like to see the NCAA pick an attendance number and enforce it for FBS membership. Actual tickets sold...no buying your own tickets, or free giveaways. Make it 8,000 or 10,000 and enforce it. The schools that can sell the tickets stay FBS.
To watch MAC schools consistently lie about attendance in order to stay above 15,000 is beyond comical. Probably 4,000-5,000 people in the stadium today and we announce 15,000 and change. It's a joke.
It would make some departments/conferences be more realistic about football in general.

Look, it wasn't pretty but Georgia and Clemson are waking up with questions too. Coming in to the season the ? Seemed to be around the WR and our line seemed solid. Well, our WR corps appears strong to me- Moore and Miller are threats to break one every time they touch the ball, Redding and Phoutavong have nice size, Zimmerman has a nose for the ball and Dossous is going to break out.

The RBs- Coppet and Cleveland are nice complimentary backs- Cleveland reminds me a bit of Willie Geter, and Wilson is capable as well, but the line just did not open up holes for them. I'd like to see some screens or check downs to either of the RBs as well.

The D is who we thought they'd be. Th the hope is they improve each week with game experience.
