BG vs Memphis Game Thread

I'm trying to figure out how we couldn't score a single effing point in the final 3 quarters against a team playing mostly prevent with their backups and 3rd stringers in.

So we still have scored, what, 6 points in the 2nd halves this season? Pathetic...

Who can we beat this year? EMU will be favored. MU had a chance to beat UC. Kent only lost by 48 to Alabama. Maybe the Zips?

BG football has been overrated the last 5 years...much of our success has simply been beating losing teams. Obviously a couple big wins mixed in particularly the 2013 MAC Championship. This however is a coaching staff that obviously is completely overmatched at this level. Should be some great home crowds the rest of the year.

Well ... I didn't bother watching the second half. Didn't miss much.

As an avid BG fan and alum I'm going to go ahead and say this ... the new AD did not hire Jinks. The new AD did not interview Jinks. The new AD did not sign off on the inexperienced coaching staff.

The team looks totally overwhelmed. Some players are working hard but so many do not show the effort or enthusiasm.

We have now gone from conference champs to FCS caliber and we are seeing serious issues that could plague the next few years. Maybe the new AD should step in and shake the staff up and try to salvage some of this season.

Bad, bad, bad performance. Plenty of blame to go around. There are some serious changes that need to happen. Players and coaches need to do some soul searching. Games like this are inexcusable. Is Memphis a good team? Absolutely! Are they 70+ points more talented than we are? I sincerely doubt it. But this team isn't playing with heart, they are hanging their heads and acting defeated. We were taken to the woodshed tonight. We are going to get annhilated by one particular MAC west school.... which makes me puke every time I think about it.

It takes some specially awful coaching to go from a MAC Title, to the worst team in the league in 8 months. Kingston must have known he hired a total dud, Probably saw it at the spring game.

The Blade reported it was the most lopsided defeat in school history.

Probably the most inept performance I have seen by a Falcon football team in over 50 years. Defense was NON existent, other than Joe Davidson, special teams were horrible, the offense scores three points against a team that was playing soft for more than a half, and a coaching staff that couldn't even get the right players on the field to punt and obviously had the team very poorly prepared.

Remember when we were beating OSU 7-0? Jinks should have walked to the locker room and retired then.

What a joke of a team he has put out there. A year ago we led Memphis at the half and should have won. This year they could have scored 112 points if they wanted to. No way we got that much worse.

Jinks was a high school head coach in Texas blah blah blah. Texas high school football is huge blah blah blah. It's still high school football and a part time job. Coaching players ranging from awful to all state. I don't even think he was coaching in the biggest division in Texas not that that would matter either.

What we witnessed last night was beyond acceptable. That should never, ever happen. I've been very frustrated, upset and pissed off after losses before. Even embarrassed at times. But right now it's beyond embarrassment, I'm flat out ashamed of everything surrounding this program right now. Right now this team is an embarrassment to our former players, donors, ticket holders, fans and students, etc.

The part that bugs me is that BG hires a coach that nobody else wants. Since standard procedure is give them a 5 year contract, BG just falls in line knowing the risk is much higher than in other hires. Now BG is totally stuck.
