Power play needs a lot of work. We had no answer when Bemidji stood us up at the blue line and denied us entry into the zone. Saw a lot that last year. Scouting report on us hasn't changed.

Re: Bemidji
You guys sure a lack of firepower isn't going to be an issue this year?
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
Re: Bemidji
The "lack of fire" is in the players themselves. It looked like a continuation of last season, where the team just didn't look mentally prepared to play to their potential.Flipper wrote:You guys sure a lack of firepower isn't going to be an issue this year?

Scoring will be a problem for just about everyone in the WCHA. Very limited offensive skill, with the exception of a handful of guys.

They're playing A LOT better tonight. Bemidji's goal was a great shot that Nell didn't have much of a chance at. If they bring this energy for the next 40 minutes the goals will come.unfalconbelievable wrote:Down 1-0

End of 2 tied 1-1. Decent start, now it's time to finish.
Re: Bemidji
Down 1-3. Defensive breakdown led to the 3rd goal. There's time now to regroup as they are replacing a pane of glass that has been broken.

That pane of glass is the perfect metaphor for our expectations this weekend.

Hell, how about all weekend...............factman wrote:How the hell do you come out "flat" in you season OPENER?
I know most of us including the media got sucked into drinking the expectation juice for this season.......boy were we all wrong.
Re: Bemidji
Who was interfering with who on the penalty that led to that 5 on 3? Pohlkamp has every right to go after that puck as the player who stepped in front of him.Critical Thinker wrote:4-1 BSU. Is it basketball season yet?

Well, that was a whole weekend of suck. Hopefully, the team realized nobody is going to hand them a trophy unless they actually WORK for it.
