Clawson and Wake destroy Babers and Cuse

Wake Forest should be ranked going into their next game, Florida State. Not that they will but they are absolutely a top 25 in my book at this point in the season. Wake has one whale of a defense this year. If Clawson ever decides he wants one more move, he will be on top of the short list for some major ADs.

My guess is if both coaches stay in these schools for a few years, Clawson will continue to rule this match-up.

That score is misleading. It was a 4 point game until late.

The defense took away some good opportunities for 'Cuse including an interception in the endzone when I was watching in the second half. Typical Clawson defense that bends all the way down the field and waits for the offense to break before they score. The defense also scored a late TD.

Offensively Clawson had a back that is blue collar to the core and got tough yards to finish the game. When you have a conservative run game the pass play can be big down the stretch. Maybe not as entertaining as Babers, as many complained while Clawson was here, but effective.

I don't know what the expectations are for Wake...you're not going to beat many winning programs with Clawson. The ACC is usually very top heavy...Clawson will be beat the bottom end teams, split with the middle of the pack and maybe beat a FSU, Clemson or Miami once every 5 or 6 years. For Wake Forest maybe that's good enough...if Clawson's BG teams played in the MAC West during his time hear, he'd either still be at BG or fired.

Nonsense...the team he built beat the west for titles 2x and was 3-1 against the west last year.

Not sure what teams you were watching apollo, but if you are telling me Dave Clawson wasn't a top flight coach at BG or in the MAC, you are absolutely totally wrong. Us vs MAC West? Ask my guy Jordan Lynch. That was one of the greatest coaching/preparation weeks I have ever seen. We literally knew we would win that game based on scouting and prep, felt we could execute XYZ and went out and did it. And they had no answer. None. As a January 1 bowl bound team w a Heisman finalist.

I will never forget that game.

Clawson was far from perfect; you can point to flaws etc.

But this guy has completely turned around four programs in four tries. And yes he won't likely beat Miami and FSU regularly. But he has turned around Wake Forest football.

He can coach.

Clawson's last year (2013) the defense was ranked #1 in the MAC and #10 nationally. That is a little better than "bending." The following year BG dropped to #118 nationally.....because we needed to completely change philosophies to "score a lot and fast then hang on for dear life"...... you know, because.
