Defense is Swiss cheese. Impossible to sustain anything when you can't cover or tackle anyone.

Three more games until this embarrassment is over.

That was bad....this program has fallen Falcon Fast! It isn't getting better with this coaching staff. Not seeing much improvement from many players. Red Flag...IMO

I just came on here to see what's going on. I never miss a game (either I'm there, watching on TV or listening to radio). I completely forgot they had a game last night. That's how bad this team is for me...completely forgettable.

Could be. We are playing a lot of young guys this year. Guys that need time in the weight room and the same coaches for more than two consecutive years.
There was a stat I heard yesterday for the first time. 20 some players have played their first snaps for us this year, which leads the nation. That is some bad injury luck and a formula for a bad season.

As a public service I would like to ask the folks of this board to stop reminding me that we have games. I had completely forgotten until I saw the thread(s) on here about the game. Since the Indians ensured they were gonna lose in the 1st inning I went ahead and flipped over to the game. I tried flipping back and forth between the two, and my hats off to you die hards on this year...I'm thinking of you Freak.

This team is completely, wholly unwatchable. And I watch the Browns every week, so I'm somewhat used to watching bad football. But this group? At no point in this game, even when they tied it up 7-7 did I think we had a remote chance of winning. NIU looked like they could basically tell our entire defense which run play was coming and they'd pop it for 6; every. single. down. Then on offense everything we gained looked like we were working our asses off just to move the sticks. Going for it on 4th down multiple times. 2 blocked kicks (xp & fg).

It's just a crapshow. I hope Jinks & crew are ready to figure out what went wrong this year and are ready to bring in a new host of recruits, and fix some issues with the returners, because this team is unfathomably bad. That said, mad props to Teo Redding for that TD catch. As good of a catch as you'll ever see.

This is true. At no level of football can you win by relying so heavily on first year players. Hopefully the guys will get better, the coaching staff will recognize their own mistakes and learn from them.

IF nothing else we're getting valuable experience for a RS Fr QB that looks to have a LOT of promise. If this team was gonna be 0-fer, I'm glad they're at least getting major reps for Morgan. He has potential. Way too many WTF throws right now, but that's why you play him in a wasted year.

What does that say about Dino Babers? (Or, if you don't want to lay it on him, the general challenge of recruiting with so much coaching turnover?)

This season would be a whole lot easier to take if Jinks had come in and warned us that we were going to have a tough time competing, that the cupboard was bare and we were going to have to patch some things together in the short term. He didn't seem to do that. The fact that he didn't is part of what has made this season so horrifying for me -- much more so than 2010 was, for example.

I still think there's a chance that he is a good coach (or at least a coach with the potential to be good) in a bad situation that he's going to need to fix. But, boy, it sure would have been nice to see this coming.

As green as he was/is when he came in he may not have been able to recognize that the cupboard was bare.

I'm not laying the season on Dino. I am more laying it on instability. Two recruiting classes on this team had a coaching change in the middle. How many players did we lose / how many players are developing differently than a different coach planned?

Jacob Bennett would have been the starter there for the 4th straight year, but he got injured before the season started. I believe Dietz played right tackle last year, a little easier when your QB is right handed.
