Re: Anchorage
You have no clue about the history of BG hockey playing "horrible" teams that should be "easy wins."apollo wrote:Anchorage is probably one of the worst 3-4 teams in the country. Should be 2 easy wins...Anchorage is very weak defensively...next to zero puck skills...they'll struggle with our forecheck. 5-1, 4-1 in no particular order

End of the first, tied adat 1. Shots showing tied at 8. Wasn't that even of a period as Anchorage controlled the majority of the first.

Re: Anchorage
That is a really bad "tie".....Wouldn't be that big a deal if we got off to a decent start on the year...gotta beat bad teams and Anchorage is bad.

Re: Anchorage
Exactly. I was worried about tonight's game. We've been doing well and UAA has not won a league game. A desperate team is a dangerous team if we take them lightly. Glad we were able to get the 2 points, though we should have had 3. I doubt if tomorrow will be any easier.pdt1081 wrote:You have no clue about the history of BG hockey playing "horrible" teams that should be "easy wins."apollo wrote:Anchorage is probably one of the worst 3-4 teams in the country. "Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I blame Crazy Frank Anzalone's being in the house.
All is for the best in this best of all possible worlds.

Re: Anchorage
Play 65 minutes of hockey without losing= 1 point
Win a skills completion that lasts less than 5 minutes= 1 point
What a bunch of nonsense. Stupid NHL.

Re: Anchorage
Three-on-three is an actual scenario that can exist during a hockey game where teams are forced to play offense and defense. It is far from a skills competition.

Re: Anchorage
I thought we did an outstanding job of playing down to the level of the competition.
Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy.
Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy.
Du hockey comme dans le temps!

Defensively, they played like a team that knows they have a horrible penalty kill.Freddie wrote:I thought we did an outstanding job of playing down to the level of the competition.

I really hope Bednard gets the start tonight. Nothing against Nell, he's been playing great. But you have to develop another goalie, just in case. It'd shake up the team defense a little bit, which wouldn't be a bad thing.
Will there be 6 healthy D-men tonight?

Re: Anchorage
Defense? The whole reason it's in overtime is for someone to score easily, not to emulate an actual scenario. It's a cheap gimmick that exists solely for fan entertainment.BGDrew wrote:Three-on-three is an actual scenario that can exist during a hockey game where teams are forced to play offense and defense.
