They would be sticking to their agreement if they picked Navy...that's the point. The system...the deal as it sits...is rigged to suit TV. The athletes and the on field outcomes are secondary. That's why Wisky and Penn State are basically playing for the right to bitch the loudest over being excluded

Just my thing I guess? I'll root for Western in the Cotton Bowl if they make it, and I think PJ Fleck is a really good coach. I've been saying for 2 years that Western was going to be really good from the way they've been recruiting. My interest is in the money for BG, which we desperately need...otherwise I couldn't care less about Western Michigan in any sport.
Hockey wise, It's not my fault the WCHA isn't a very competitive conference....you can almost predict our games months in advance....we're going to win 8 or 9 out of 10 against the bottom half of the conference. We're going to win 5 out of 10 against the top half.

WMU will be representing the MAC in the Cotton Bowl.

Now will PJ Fleck be coaching them.

It makes 0 sense for that coach not to coach in the bowl game. I know it happens every year but it makes no sense.

Was interesting to see PJ's reaction when asked if he was going to coach the bowl game. There was a definite PAUSE before he responded, then pushed for WMU to get Cotton Bowl.
But that pause tells me he definately has some irons in fire so to speak. He'd be foolish not to, even tho his 800K from K Zoo is best in league. I always wondered what his pitch was to kids to get them there. After hearing him talk, the intensity etc. makes it easy to see now. My son also keyed me into an interview he had online and I was even More impressed.

I'm surprised we haven't heard about a new job for Fleck yet.

He's not going to leave just to leave...Cincinnati I'm sure is very interested, but PJ has enough momentum he may be able to jump into better job than that. Oregon could be the spot...if they don't bring Frost back from UCF.

All comes down to the money...or PJ's desire for more. I'm sure he could land a P5 job with a B1G also ran like Purdue and he'd be gone in theree years and have millions. Or he can stay at WMU...make around a mil a year and stay forever.

Maybe he thinks Dantonio will be gone in a year or two and he can take over at MSU...or maybe he guns for that Notre Dame job this year. Can't see him going waaaaay out west...then again I was shocked when Urbie left the midwest for Utah

Apparently Fleck is out of the running for the Oregon job. Folks in Cincy want him, but if WMU can pony up to keep him around I think he'll stay. Cincy is still a G5 school after all, despite whatever financial advantage they may have.

My guess is if he isn't hired away by the end of this week, he's staying in the 'Zoo. Schools want to hire as fast as possible for recruiting purposes. He'd also be wise to hold out for a P5 job instead of a likely lateral move to the AAC.
