Browns QB situation from the Plain Dealer

Lots of talk, including about Harris.

"Is it Josh Harris, the Baltimore Ravens sixth-round draft pick last year who joined the Browns in December because he saw a better opportunity to play?"

"Savage was Baltimore's director of player personnel when the Browns signed Harris off the Ravens' practice squad in December.

"We liked him," Savage said. "We thought over there that he could come in and after a year or so, he and Kyle [Boller] could go through a number of years together as a starter and a backup. Maybe Josh can develop more than that. He did a pretty decent job in the preseason last year."

It sounds as if Savage initially envisions McCown and Harris competing for the same roster spot in training camp, possibly as the No. 3 passer.

"They're both good guys, both good workers. I'm anxious to see who can come out on top in that one," he said."
