89-76 loss. BG shot 48% from the foul line. I remember when we led the national in FT shooting.

How about 0-14 from arc in 1st half? Hard to believe we have NO outside shooters eith any consistency. :(

We started taking open shots in the second half and started making 3's. I think too often we pass up open shots to throw up a contested shot. I believe we have players that can shoot. We just need players that aren't afraid to take the shot. The second half the players were able to square up and shoot. That makes a huge difference. Unfortunately our free throw shooting is as bad as it has ever been.

We were driving to the basket more tonight. That helped open things up. Carly was really successful driving to the basket tonight. We had 4 players in double digits. I really like the ability of our players. I see a lot of potential. The biggest question for me is Andrea Cecil. Nothing wrong with her play. I just wish she would get a lot more playing time. I think she can be a difference maker. But that isn't going to happen when she is on the bench most of the game. I also see Jane becoming more of a factor inside. She seemed kind of timid early in the season. Which is somewhat expected for a freshman. Her 3 point shooting has been pretty accurate as well.

One of the most frustrating thing is the shot clock. Sometimes we don't seem to know it exists. Abby passed up an open 10 footer to pass to Ashley under the basket.... as the shot clock ran out.

Our play in the second half gives me a glimmer of hope. Perhaps that built some confidence. We had a really active full court press. We took open shots. We had 4 players in double digits for the night. I just saw a much better effort both offensively and defensively.

New year, same old losing. The most dominant program in the MAC is now looking for glimmers of hope, and a single conference win. Meanwhile the men losing to Akron by five, feels like the biggest win in two years. Standards, where or where did they go? I'm sure the moral victories will be applauded on Twitter this week.

Between Myers 0-7 shooting and Abby's stumbling and fumbling and the fact she can't make a layup, I think I'd rather see Thompson and Uecker get more playing time. Also, what's up with Glowniak?

I gave up on the coach last season. Her substitutions make me laugh and we still need a point guard. Can't tell if we need a big person because we only get to see a few minutes of Cole and Uecker and none of Glowniak.

In fact there really were no changes in personnel. Same starting 5, same first two subs - Meyers and Rachel K and then limited minutes for the rest. To be fair Roos' experienced players played well in the 2nd half but they had dug way too big of a hole in the first half to overcome. I indicated before the league season began that this was a 20 loss team and I am adjusting it to 23 based on the first two MAC games. Hope I'm wrong and the direction changes but I see no major indications of the trend reversing.

Another embarrassing loss to Northern Illlinois. Poor play from start to finish, except for a few minutes in the third quarter. Some of the poorest play I have seen at BGSU since Deana Knoblough (SP) was head coach before Kurt. Poor job of scouting--didn't our players know NI would play a tough inside game? Where is the help defense? Poorly prepared/motivated team. Can't shoot, can't hit foul shots. What do they do in practice?
Abysmal defense. Should have beaten this team. Poor coaching, poor to no adjustments during the game. Terrible refereeing--where does the MAC get these hacks? The MAC may have the worst set of women's referees in all of college basketball.
No reason to think BGSU women will finish higher than last.
How much longer will Athletic Director allow this destructive spiral of losing? All the women's coaches need to go.

Well in defense of the athletic director. It's gets tough to realize the reality of your department, when most days are spent patting each other on the back via Twitter.

Ditto to all of the above! I've been saying all along that Lambert and Santoro need to step up their game, and indeed they did that in the third quarter. But, ladies, this is a game comprised of four quarters, and had we played the other three like we did the third, we would have pocketed a double-digit win. Our defense in the paint is non-existent, as either we are not talented enough to defend, or no one is teaching them how to do it. It's really quite simple, you let someone drive and get an uncontested layup, you get yanked. That's actually worse than a turnover, because you give up free points. The fire that our team played with in the third was highly unexpected, but pleasant to watch, as we, as fans, have NOT seen it all year from this squad. I just hope the team can watch that quarter back on film, just so they know the way they need to play for four quarters. Nevertheless, it's time for this coaching staff to go, as it appears they all are incompetent to coach at this level.
