If BG were to lose tonight 1/21 to Alaska and Ferris were to win BG would only be 2 pts up on Alaska and 3 points up on Ferris. Both Ferris and Alaska have 2 games in hand. After tonight BG has 6 conference games and Ferris and Alaska have 8 remaining conference games.
BG also heads to Ferris next weekend. For a team picked to win the league it's not inconceivable that BG could actually finish 5th or 6th. Imagine finishing 5th and having to travel to Alaska for the 1st round of playoffs.
BG MUST win tonight and MUST split next weekend or we will be playing on the road for the playoffs.

We sure needed that win last night. Gave us a little separation from Alaska and Ferris. They each have two games in hand with us but with those games and hand they cannot catch us in one weekend for fourth place. We at least need a split next weekend at Ferris to remain our fourth place cushion.
