BG vs Ball State

Post by gmartin »

Well the uninspired women's showed up tonight.

BG getting out hustled. Out worked. No energy. No fight.

Down 51-29 @ half.

Carmen Grande has her career high, 20 points in the first half and Bennet has a double double already. Warm up the bus

Hapless? Hopeless? Ball State is beating us like we did to Akron. 72-40 after 3

I think we still have 1 more win on the schedule, home against Miami. Will finish at 7-24.

Look at the positive. EMU is last. Akron is #11 seed. BG would be #10.

As of tonight, Toledo is #7.

BG vs Toledo in first round.

Don't know final ##s but a team that has out rebounded most teams this yr. got HAMMERED tonite! At one point it was 42-20 or something like that. Terrible performance. Admittedly, BSU has TWO 6'5" kids. ( how do these schools find them?).
But BG was losing long rebounds too, not getting to the ball on time. Sad performance to follow up last outing, which gave me some hope that things were starting to come around. :(
Education our Challenge, Excellence our goal. (look it up)

Caterrion Thompson's 16 points was the only bright spot I noticed tonight from the Falcons. All of our seniors should have their back sides glued to the pine where they belong, while attempting to develop our young players and getting them ready for next season. College seniors should not be playing high school JV basketball at the college D1 level. Not one player on our roster knows a thing about how to defend the paint, nor the arc, for that matter. Our continuous self-destruction on offense AND defense all points its finger at blaming the coaching staff for another dismal performance. I really think that coach Roos believes her team is as talented as other teams, but that we just don't execute and we just get "outplayed" by our opponents. I say "HOGWASH! Everyone else is just plain better than we are.....PERIOD!!!" All of our opponents impose their will on us constantly, but we can't impose our will on them because we have NO will to impose! Again, it's all due to coaching. Now it's back to the drawing board to get ready for Toledo, and if we bring our "JV TEAM" into Savage Arena, it'll be a very long twenty mile drive back home. It's time for our players to start earning their scholarships, and we're long overdue for these coaches to start earning their paychecks!!!!!
