BG vs Buffalo

Post by gmartin »

BG facing the Bulls today. Let's see what happens today. Bad coaching. Too many outside shots. Siefker getting pushed around. Abby getting 2 fouls within the first 2 minutes. Bad coaching (again). A win and BG moves up to #9 seed. A loss keeps them at #10.
Looks like Toledo or Western.

BG down 18-11 after 1st period.
Only 3 made FG's. Shooting 20%
7 Turnovers.

Ugly stats

Well, BG actually led 28-27 with possession, but Buffalo scored the next 5 points and lead 32-28 at the half.

BTW the Perry girl (#55) actually looked good in the paint both on offense and defense. Maybe the new coach next year will start her.

Two games in a row we come out second half flat. What is going on in the locker room. Or what isn't going on.

A BG WIN after trailing by 8 to start the 4th.

Wow. A missed put back for the tie doesn't drop.

Forgot about game looked up stats, only showing 60-55 w/ 1:30 to go. Final score?

Its funny... I know we've all been down on coaching, yet every once in awhile these things happen. So some ability IS there, consistency isn't.

We won by 2 pts. Buffalo missed a 3ft shot at the buzzer to force OT. 65-63 I believe

The final was 64-62, BG. Congratulations to the Falcons for displaying enough composure to dig themselves out of two separate double-digit deficits! Siefker actually played better than normal, as BG won the rebound battle against a team that ranks 30th in the nation in rebounding. Another tip to the coaching staff...... make these ladies practice their free throw shooting until they're blue in the face! Free throws win games. Just ask Kent State (Wednesday night, making 31 of 36)! I say this especially to Carly Santoro, who mustered only 3 of 6 in the last minute and a half. Making the other three FT's would have sealed the deal, and Buffalo's last possession would have been a non-factor. Nevertheless, great win, Falcons! Hopefully, a confidence booster that would encourage you to keep the "peddle to the metal"! ;-)

Looks like BG will be playing Western Michigan in MAC Tournament. WMU cannot jump any higher than 8th and can't be caught by BG or MU.
