Jacojdm -- Thanks for the correction on Kate ... she did make all six of them. She is becoming one of my favorite players. This whole team is comprised of "my favorite players." I love watching them play.

Patrickbg -- I'm torn on that EMU-Marshall game myself. I think maybe I should root for Marshall since the EMU's swept us this year, but I'd also like to see us win the league and get the #1 seed at the MAC Tournament, although seedings don't really mean much. The nice thing about all this is that we control our own destiny with two very winnable games to end the regular season. I can't wait to get to AA for Senior Day Saturday! The really scary thing for the rest of the league is all our top players will be back next season and the season after. And you know this coaching staff will work hard with recruiting and continue to bring in great players. We have a great coaching staff and having spoken with them after games, I don't think anyone outworks our coaches.

Marshalls size.......

Post by Falconboy »

Well, it was obvious that their coach wasn't very comfortable using their two behemoths against our quicker linup , seeing as neither of them started. Also the two giants probably played no more than 16 minutes total. They were, as I suspected very large and very slow and uncordinated at times. Thats why just their huge size didnt' really affect us at all. But, put that size in a lighter , quicker , more agile body and a smarter player , then we get major problems. All I know is that I'm glad we don't play them at their place to find out if we still have the quicknes advantage.

Are you serious? All you have to do is put 6 foot 5 inch girl into "a lighter , quicker , more agile body and a smarter player, then we get major problems." It's so simple. Shoot, why didn't their coach think of that. Aw Shucks! So all they needed was someone who was 6'5", could run like the wind and cut on a dime and was a basketball Einstein and we would have been in a world of hurt. Nevermind the laws of physics concerning mass and speed. When you increase size, you are going to increase mass, which is inversely related to speed in that it of course decreases. Then once you get the large frame into motion, it becomes difficult to stop or cut once you get this body into motion. Sorry FB, but Shaq is never going to have the moves of Barry Sanders as much as you wish it.

Who!!!!!

Post by Falconboy »

 Hold on here! Talk about twisting my words man! Did I say that Marshall's two giants had to be only fast and super agile or really smart to beat us?? Com on , get clue! :? Yeah, those two giants could've shot more probably, but they also were very uncordinated with their hands and possibley allowing us to get alot of steals off their clumsiness. They frankley didn't know how to fully use their size potentiel, if they did we might be talking about a loss. They weren't exactly real talented or anything , just real big. Thankfully their slowness and bad ball handles helped play into our good defense.

I shouldn't even bother, BUT I quoted you exactly word for word. I did not twist YOUR words in anyway. Revist what you said, heck even reread what I quoted from your post and tell me how I twisted your words.

OK, now I wasn't an English major, but here's how I think it works. If I put something in quotations like this for example, "a lighter , quicker , more agile body and a smarter player, then we get major problems," then that means someone said it, in this case you. And if it's not in quotations, say like this for example sorry FB, but Shaq is never going to have the moves of Barry Sanders as much as you wish it, it means that someone, myself in this case is making a declarative statement to inform you that the laws of physics do not conform to your will. I just happened to used two fairly familiar people (Shaq and Barry) as a demonstrative to make a scientific point using a Newtonian Law in a more common forum, i.e. using sports figures. Sorry that you misunderstood that, I really am.
