Report: Michigan Tech coach Mel Pearson to Michigan

It is reported that Mel Pearson, head coach at Michigan Tech, is taking over at University of Michigan after long time coach Red Berenson retired. Pearson is a Tech alum, so it stinks for their fans to lose an alumni coach, but he also was an assistant at Michigan under Berenson.

He did a ton of good at Tech. The WCHA may have just become a bit easier.

George Sipple of the DFP confirmed it, and Pearson will reportedly be introduced tomorrow in Ann Arbor.

Would be surprised if BG and Michigan weren't able to work out a few home-and-homes over the next few years now.
