Knapke was bad....really bad. Doesn't anybody remember him getting benched for Cody Calloway? Lewis most likely looked at that and knew it would not be in his favor having Knapke or a potential freshmen throwing to him.

Knpke was hurt and inexperienced that first year...I don't know that he ever got his confidence back. Although his accuracy was pretty bad even before he got hurt.
Ironic if Lewis left because of the K man when the winning TD of that Camelia Bowl..first bowl win in ages... was Knapke to Lewis
