Beating the dead horse...Game Day Experience

Post by BGorDeath »

Turn down the goddam music. I would like to be able to have a conversation with the person sitting next to me without losing my voice by the freaking kickoff. Let the freaking band play more and get rid of Axle Rose screaming at 90000db. The music even drowned out the PA announcer. Oh, and turn down that idiot screaming into the mic for the student contests. Annoying as hell. And find someone that can actually hit the stands with the t-shirt cannon. I think the area between the student section and the Sebo got more shirts that anyone. Finally, TACKLE someone.

I'm done.

I thought the music sounded really good on TV. And there is this go-to electronica something or other they kept going to between plays. I liked it.

My kids were even annoyed by how loud the music was played. Seriously irritating.

I agree with previous posters. The music was insanely loud. Everyone around where I was sitting was complaining. You should not have to wear ear plugs at the game.

Maybe the music was up so loud to help drown out the moaning and groaning from our players after getting the crap beat out of them all game long.

And the fans evaluation of the beating was covered as well along with our groans.

Plenty of complaints about the music. The cheerleaders ran out about two minutes before the team did. Music was playing while the players ran out at the same time the band was playing. The gate to get into lot CC off Alumni Dr. was closed, we had to put into the RV lot and drive around people to get to the lot. The people we talked to about why the gate the was closed were clueless.

BG has the worst gameday experience in FBS, no convincing me otherwise.

I don't disagree with much that has been said, but on the positive side, they finally figured out to keep the left lane open for those not paying thAt have parking passes for Lot CC. =D>

I don't look closely, so it's conceivable I missed it, but did the university publish new bag policies? I had to talk my way into the game because I had our diaper bag with me. Yeah, it's a backpack bag, but it is a diaper bag. Extra clothes for the cool weather, diapers, etc. I am not, nor could I, enter a game with a 2 year old without this bag or something similar. I was told I wasn't allowed in, several back and forth, and telling her that then I'm just going home, the girl at the front let me in. She claimed the cops were cracking down, but I saw several officers in the stadium while wearing this backpack and not one of them said a peep.

One of my friends actually got sent back to her car because she had their diaper stuff in a drawstring backpack thing. She transferred everything into her purse and then had a similar bickering to get because they didn't want to let her in with her large purse.

If they have a new, documented, bag policy then shame on me for not realizing it. Of course it means that I won't even bother to attempt to enter another game (just like I wouldn't take my 2 year old to an NFL game where the rules basically prohibit any sort of diaper bags or purses). If they decided to try and start enforcing this without publishing it then it's just par for the course. And I hope they don't try to pull this same crap at the STroh...I already re-upped my season tickets and I've taken this bag to every hoops game the past 2 seasons.

Agree 100% on the PA/music...ridiculous.

Anyone else have issues with the concessions? My hot dog was burnt and kids popcorn was burnt and cold.

Joyce was sent back as they said no backpack to her also. She mentioned she's carried this same bag (with her jacket etc inside for past ELEVEN years) into Doyt Perry Stadium. She was upset with ME as to why I hadn't told her about this policy. ( I'd read through some things about the game before leaving home. When she asked WHERE this policy was POSTED they said it was listed at " main gate". Is this a new security company? We need to hit MOOSE with these complaints. Frankly, BG seems to be doing more anti fan things every year. :(

2 years ago I was stopped because of my bookbag. In it was a stocking cap, a poncho as it looked like it was going to rain, and my asthma inhalers. I was told I couldn't take them in even if inspected as was done previously that year. I asked what had changed between home games and I was told it's up to the individual. I stopped carrying it.

Saturday beside the gate I noticed a 3 foot sign that had MAC emblems on it and the first words was the MAC is and then a list. Diaper bags, drawstring bags, purses we're allowed all others were subject to inspection. There is nothing about not being able to take them in.

I'm done.
Hasn't this stuff been complained about for the past several years?
And weren't there complaints put on the 'Fan Surveys' that were sent out - past seasons for - 'improvements'.
It seems we go thru the same 'stuff' (loud music, poor food quality, lines at concessions, screaming contests, etc) every year
You'd think this was the first game ever played in the stadium sometimes??
Doesn't seem to be any improvement in game management OR stadium management.
