Re: Gameday: MTSU thread
Bad snaps ... are they on the first time QB or the center? I've never seen anywhere this many bad snaps at the college level. The one just now killed yet another good drive.

Re: Gameday: MTSU thread
We make scoring offensive TD's damn near impossible. None vs MSU, one vs Northwestern, just one tonight.
GO BG!!!
Re: Gameday: MTSU thread
The Snaps are not even hitting his hands. They are two feet to the left of him every time. So either he's not lining up behind the center or the balls going to the left right from the snap.
Re: Gameday: MTSU thread
We've had four bad snaps today. I think four bad snaps is a pretty common number for an entire season. That should be an easy problem to fix.

Solid game tonight. Super entertaining.

And yet Kent State has done something BG has made look impossible- win a game. We have no room to talk about anyone in the country.gmartin wrote:Kent is bad!!!! In 4 games, they passed for a total of 213 yards, including only 11 yards passing today. Kent also been outscored 119-6 in its 3 FBS games.

Re: Gameday: MTSU thread
Easy to fix: bad snaps. Should be fixed by the time Monday practice is out. Those were drive killers. Our team has no margin for error so stupid mistakes hurt that much more.
Harder to fix: missed tackles. Defense was better the second half but still far too many missed tackles. Everybody who missed a tackle should do extra push-ups and runs this week.
Not sure it can be fixed this season: both lines were utterly dominated. No matter how many passes you complete, if neither line can get a good push you will not win games.
It's 2010 all over again. And last year was also 2010. Total build job ahead of us. At least the freshmen are making plays.

This game was better than the other three. I like that Redding stepped up a bit today. though I feel bad for James Morgan, I think Doege gives us a better shot in this moment. I really don't know what happened with the o-line...but hopefully we get that straightened out

I feel bad for Falcon fans. That's it. Nobody else. We have to watch this crapfest -- and we know that unless the coach all of a sudden BECOMES a bonafide D-1 coach, we can look forward to more of this nonsense and some pretty awful football for another 4 years. I have seen every game so far, and each week BG has found new and different ways to screw up. Almost all of the issues come down to fundamentals; you know, the kind of stuff that is most directly related to coaching.Bassdrummin wrote:This game was better than the other three. I predicted 2 wins (maybe 3) for this team, but now I'm not sure they can beat Akron and Kent. Is it possible BG could pull a 0-fer the season? God I hope not. Regardless, it's going to be bad.

Anybody see where the MTSU QB fumbled the handoff to their RB, and Locke recovered it? Cameras caught Locke on the sideline celebrating like he won a title and even had a BGSU championship belt he was holding up to the crowd.
We were losing 21-10 at the time, and that little stunt told me everything I needed to know about a Jinks coached team.

Please, please, please don't disgrace the 2010 team like that. They deserve much better. The 2010 team had 4 losses by 3 points or less (a combined 9 points) and were at least competitive in most of their games and at least mustered 20-plus points in 8 games. This team is as close to the 2000 version as we've ever seen since then, where they took the field with a pillow and swung away. Both teams were pathetic, lacked any sort of offense and were both one on the worst in the country. The only real difference was in 2000 we had a coach on his way out and in 2017 we have one who just recently came in but is completely lost.MarkL wrote:It's 2010 all over again.

Re: Gameday: MTSU thread
It was mainly better because our opponent was missing its two best players. We also won the turnover battle 3-0 and we still had no shot at the win.Bassdrummin wrote:This game was better than the other three.
