9 winless teams in FBS

Post by gmartin »

There are 9 winless team in FBS. I believe FBS is now 130 teams but 9 winless teams. How many will be winless after next week? Here are the 9 teams and who they play next week.

BGSU 0-4 vs Akron
Baylor 0-4 vs Kansas State
Florida State 0-2 vs Wake Forest
East Carolina 0-3 vs UCONN (9/24) USF (9/30)
Charlotte 0-4 vs FIU
UTEP 0-4 vs Army
Nevada 0-4 vs Fresno State
GA Southern 0-3 vs BYE
UMASS 0-5 vs Ohio

I think BG will beat Akron to come off that list. Fwiw, I think Florida State is the only other team that gets off the list next week.

Thank goodness for the MAC East. Makes it nearly impossible to go winless.

That's some bad company to be in. BG is also 0-4 for the first time since 2000, which was Blackney's final year in what turned out to be a dreadful season - the worst I have see since I started following BG in the early 1990's.

You might want to re-think this.

I see BG, at best, winning one game now. And that's not a gimme. This is a bad football team that seems to be in decline -- still.

This team, if it continues playing the way it is, will go down in BG history as the worst EVER. Since BG became D-1 (1960) the worst season has had two wins (that has happened several times) but never less than two.

It would all but take a miracle for BG to win 2 games from this point forward, given what I've seen so far.

When all is said and done, Coach Jinks may go down in BG football history as overseeing the school's worst football era -- ever.
