Re: Gameday: MTSU thread
I have ONE question guys. Were we or were not told how this def. " flies To the ball etc" prior to season? Guess they didn't mention how bad the TACKLING would be after the flight.
Education our Challenge, Excellence our goal. (look it up)

Maybe our D does fly to the ball and makes tackles in practice. Look what offense our D is going up against.
Re: Gameday: MTSU thread
Think positive... Qb play was better. Jinks is right the kid is going to get killed with that o line.
Then Change the line!!!! Pick a Running back and run with him 15 to 20 touches. There has to be a player that can hit those holes faster then what we have been seeing. How about Miller, Redding, Garth, Jefferies, and Milton. These guys all were running backs at one time. Can't get no worse then what we have been seeing .
I dont think our d is that bad. We just need the offense to start moving the ball and score some touchdowns. Football is a game of momentum and the d needs help. We discussed missed tackles. Yes we had some, but MTSU had them as well! The d had 4 takeaway resulting in zero points.
Lets not be to fast to pass blame. FIX the offense and we can still win the East.
I saw most of the Mac games yesterday and did not see anyone stand out much better then us
ALL THE defensives gave up high yardage, missed tackle!!! . Toledos' last 3 game, THEY gave up 50 points per game! !! Is that better then ours? NO!! It's just that toledo and others has a college offense and controls the clock better.

Re: Gameday: MTSU thread
I appreciate the positivity. I'm trying to find pieces of this team that can grow into a winner myself. I do like the young QB and given time he's going to be great.
Unfortunately the D really is that bad. They can't stop the run and the defensive line was getting pushed yards back. I'm not sure if it is lack of talent, lack of size/speed, poor conditioning, coaching/coordination, or a combination of factors. You can watch the play of line vs line when each team has the ball and predict the final score. MTSU controlled both lines and I can't say I expect better getting into conference play.
The back 7 is OK and they've shown some good moments this year. The front 4 ... you just can't win games when they're getting pushed around like that.
The way to win games this year I think is going to involve bringing all kinds of pressure consistently to disrupt the QB and slow the run. With brining that much pressure you can force mistakes and you'll trade that for giving up gash plays. And the offense must get going. I expect any wins we have this year will be in the area of 42-35. That means the offense has to score 42 points in a single game. I'm not sure the offense has scored 6 TDs yet this season.

That is actually 2 miles south of the Piqua exit (exit 82). They should have gone up to the Piqua exit and turned right, then gone down to the old Ponderosa (which is now an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet). Or take 36 on into Urbana and stopped at Crabill's for some burgers.gmartin wrote:MM80. That's just north of Dayton? What's BG football equipment truck doing in Ohio?
