The one thing I will say about the defense is if it were on the field less it would be much improved. You can't expect the defense to not wear down when it's on the field 60% of the time. Have the offense sustain some drives and give the D a break. Here is an idea, RUN RUN RUN the ball more with Clair. Slants and screens to the 4
RB. We were averaging 6.1 ypc now the last 2 weeks!! 2nd and 5 is alot better than 2nd and 10!

The biggest problem with BG football right now is that the QB can't hit an open receiver. BG would win the MAC with Doege at QB. Everyone saw that in the one half he played. It's not a problem with coaching. It's a problem with having a QB with a strong arm who can't complete a pass.
I don't think that is a crazy statement at all... Beat Ohio and you are 2-1 in the MAC least. Take away the terrible pick 6 against Akron, hit a couple of passes, and you are 3-0 in the league. We are an accurate quarterback from being a contender. I am not sure Doege is the man, but he is the best we have...

No... our terrible QB play is an obvious issue, but it's not the only thing keeping us from being good. Our defense hasn't been able to stop anyone for 60 minutes this year. When we HAVE to get a stop... we can't. You won't contend with that flaw
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

I agree whole-heartily. We had all that offense with Matty J and the bunch, but it wasn't until Clawson built a defense that had guys like Martin, Sutton, Lynch, Gates, Swan, and Adjei-Barimah on it that we started winning championships.

I'd argue that its easier to win in the MAC building a great defense than it is building a great offense.
