These are pretty entertaining games if you can make it out to Steller Field.

FM, is this kinda like spring ball for football? How do you think we'll do this spring?

I guess it’s similar, as it is the way the end fall practices.
Depth in the “position” players is much improved this year, with, I believe, 12 newcomers to the program. Per usual, it will depend a lot on pitching, and we have2-3 key pitchers who have sat out fall practice, recovering from injuries, but I do think we will be much improved over lasr year.

We are going to be a much better team -- I think last year, youth was being served, and depth was being created.

Also, the baseball team has one more scholarship to give out starting in June. That will hopefully add some small measure of success to the program over time.

The new scholarship was endowed to honor my late husband, who was a fan of baseball...and eventually will have my name on it as well, when I pass and an estate gift goes into the fund, strengthening it even more. Since I was the BG grad, I decided to create the scholarship combining the two things. And I know the program can sure use some more scholarships. It's a shame that a program like BG is not even giving out a full complement of scholarships as allowed by the NCAA.

Honestly, I wasn't looking for thanks from anyone, but I appreciate the posts very much. I posted that in hopes of inspiring others to do what I did (if they're able). By taking one scholarship at a time, in any sport, there's no reason why this fan base can't dramatically help improve the Athletic Department's ability to build an overall winning program. At least that's my dream...

I wish I could do more but with the Freaklings both in college now, well...but someday!
