Airbanks

Post by pdt1081 »

End of 1, BG down 0-1. Shots are 9-4, BG.

Pretty sure Airbanks had more tackles that period than the BG football team with have all game tomorrow.

Looked like a soft goal that Dop gave up. We were buzzing their goal for a lot of the period but couldn't finish.

Unbelievably, we didn't take a penalty this period. Gonna be tough to maintain our lead as most penalized team in the league if we don't step it up. Still 2 periods to go.

The WCHA TV feed is pretty solid tonight.

Learned that a Nanook is a polar bear.

*EDIT* My bad, we had one penalty but it was coincidental.

No penalty will be called on Airbanks without a matching one being called on BG.

Nobody picked up the guy on the backside. Dop didn't have a chance.

On the replay it looked like he was square to the shooter and wasn't screened when the shot came in from his left. I'll take your word for it.

He had a very strong 2nd period.

2-1 winner! Dop stood tall in the 3rd. A little extracurricular activity after the game. McDonald was throwing left after left. Hoping nothing gets called for tomorrow night.

Carryover from USCHO.

And I really don't give an "F" about them.

According to the Post game interview, the puck on the Alaska goal hit a stick laying on the ice and then deflected in. Alaska also had a player alone to the far side of the net. Dop had no chance on that goal.

Good (and bad) to hear. I thought he played very well. Made some key saves late.

He played very well. The defense in front of him was rather lazy. I think Coffman could be a decent defenseman if he can get more playing time to settle down. Not playing for a year will do that to you. Meier looked solid and should be able to earn a regular rotation, even if it starts as one game a weekend. He's in the same boat of having not played for a year. There seems to be a few key injuries with a lot of ice time available now.

Injured: Spezia, Pohlkamp, Dalton, Reichert

The effort was lousy. Oddly for me, I liked Baylis last night.
