That was some fine football. A shame that catch didn’t count. NFL quality.Mr_Sweets wrote:Holy Sh$t!!!!! First the run by Claire & then that 1 handed catch by Redding! Standard holding on BG though! smh

Except...we don't have coaches smart enough to use them right.MarkL wrote:Clair with another 100 yard game. Give him freshman of the year already.
Doege elevated this offense. Brilliant figure ahead.
Two true freshmen leading the way on offense. Good indications here.
First and goal at the KSU five, and Claire isn't in the game for any of that series. Seriously? Who the HELL is putting these players in the game? If it's Jinks, then he's even dumber than I thought, and that's a high mark to hit.
I don't understand not using a guy who had almost 100 yards in the first quarter alone when you're first and goal inside the 10.

Too many penalties tonight, although many have been on the plug-and-play backup offensive line. Clean it up, fellas!

Bad snap on the punt attempt leads to Joe Davidson having to scramble. He doesn't get the first down, so Kent has the ball at about the BG 25 with 1:40 or so left.
For our pride, I would love to stop them here.

I wish a reporter would have asked him this in his post-game interview. What is the downfall about a Hail Mary at the last play of the half. Doege can throw the ball 50 yards. Just throw it up for grabs. You get a penalty on the defense you may be able to then go for a 52-yard field goal. Not even taking the chance to me is stupid and lack of preparation again by our coachesgmartin wrote:Ok. Jinks. You are FIRED!!!!!!! After the 10 sec run off it's 4th and 3 with :03 left. Call your last timeout and go for the hail mary!!!! OMFG!!!! Moose fire this guy NOW!!!!!! What D1 coach wouldn't do a 50 yard hail mary attempt. I'm sorry I cannot defend this coach anymore!!!!

Re: BG vs Kent Game Thread
This was a heck of an effort today. Honestly, I think many of us went into this game wondering if the Falcons could even beat Kent State. For Bowling Green to win this game by four touchdowns says something about the talent we have in this program. Despite a rickety offensive line and an 18-year-old kid under center, the Falcons made a statement.
Honestly, I was impressed by some of the adjustments made by the coaches. Kent State moved the ball on a couple of long drives in the first half, but the Falcons seemed to adjust and shut down whatever it is they were doing.
I know it's only Kent State, but we really needed this win. Feels good.

Re: BG vs Kent Game Thread
Maybe 1,000 in attendance last night...maybe. Great overall effort...
227 rushing yards on Kent's D and averaged 4.93 YPC. Caleb Bright started at C for Timmy Mac and John Kurtz filled in for Jack Kramer due to injuries. They played well for being thrown into the fire and I like Bright a lot. BiG strong kid from Iowa.
D played well...yes it was Kent State's offense, or lack of. But we got picks and a fumble, didn't really give up BiG plays and tackled decently. It was a solid effort all around
And Jake Studer is a stallion, to quote SF> Now 16 of 18 on FG's for the year and deadly from 40 yards in. He got that schollie and has responded BiG time.
It's improvement and that's what we have to do. UB will be a tussle. UB has lost a ton of very close games this year and they always get up for us.

Beat a team the program should beat. I will say that a healthy Doege will do a lot to help the offense move the ball, he's a better fit at QB for what the staff wants to do. He and Clair should certainly have people feeling optimistic about the future of the offense.
The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.
