I would agree. We should only have 1 win. Miami had more first downs, more yards, less penalties and would have won that game if they could have executed a handoff on our 1 yard line. I'm not sure what other games you think we outplayed the opponent and deserved to win this year.

I love your optimism, I really do, but you should mix in some reality along with it.

As I said earlier, the next few weeks will show us if we are truly heading in the right direction or if this win can just be chalked up to having played a team that was just plain worse than us.

On an unrelated note, the conference championship game is tonight. Winner of Turdledo and NIU wins the West and I can't see anyone from the East beating either in the championship game.

When is 44-16 not a blow out?

I didn't mean that 44-16 isn't a blowout.

Meant that I would expect a blowout when the ball was turned over that many times. Kent never had a chance when they turned it over like that.

Ohio has the offense to hang with Toledo, assuming they win the East. WMU has played themselves out of contention.

Everyone thought WMU was gonna steamroll Ohio U in last year's MACC...me included. 29-23. Funny sheet can happen in that game.

Everyone thought NIU was going to fustigate us when Clawson coached the team...

Point taken, there have been some championship game surprises, but I don't see Turdledo blowing it this time around. Been a handful of times they couldn't get past NIU and last night they finally did it. If anyone wants to place any bets on the championship game, let me know. Eh, check that. The thought of betting on that team turns my stomach.

For the record, I was telling everyone that would listen that if Clawson would unleash the capability of the offense and use all the weapons in that championship game and not play it conservative like he had for most of the season, then we would win. Thankfully, he did it. That's one championship game that didn't surprise me.

Let's stick to the current. Winless at home. Bowl eligibility gone before November, 2 years in row.

Right...we shouldn't discuss them when some historical perspective might add to the conversation. We should just pretend we're Soviet communists and treat them like Trotsky by banning all references to and discussion of them...

And let's not forget, Ohio simply walked into the Glass Bowl last year as a 16-point underdog using a backup QB and beat a Kareem Hunt-led Toledo team on its home field. We all know all too well how bad BG has struggled vs UT. We had Toledo at home WITH Matt Johnson, Roger Lewis, Gehrig Dieter, etc. and got kicked in the nuts 30-7 to start a game. I wouldn't at all be surprised to see Toledo beat Ohio in Athens next week only to see Frankie and the Boys fill the script in the MACC. They have found an absolute baller at QB in Rourke, who is a JUCO transfer with two more years of eligibility left after this season as he's only a sophomore.
GO BG!!!
