we all know the potential of Wiggins and Lillard. We know what Caldwell and Frye can do on any given night. We saw in our first game how explosive Turner can be. Last night we saw a great performance out of Kick with 15 points and 15 rebounds. This team is also much better at shooting free throws. If we can get alk of these guys to play together all at the same time and have a complimentary player like fox come off the bench for a few minutes this team can be really really good. Even better next year with more experience. And I am not even including Plowden or Uju.

My rotation now would be

1 Caldwell-Cummings
2 Frye-Turner-Cummings
3 Turner-Plowden
4 Koch-Plowden
5 Wiggins-Koch-Gadson

Mix in Uju and Fox sparingly. Lillard plays good minutes upon his return.

Chatted a bit with Cowboy last night and he said (jokingly) if we lose this I'm blaming Lillard.

Well when I look/think back at how the game went I think it's actually fair to do. THe foul trouble on Turner forced us to play Fox WAY more than he should be in. Fox is the type of limited role player who can be awesome in small stretches, but the more you play him the less effective. We saw it last night...he's just not a good defender and when he's on the court that long he never seems to find himself the open 3s he gets in the games he can play 5-10 mins or so.

We really need another wing, and that player SHOULD be Lillard. I hope he gets his head on straight and can become that.

I liked the THOUGHT of having Frye/Caldwell/Cummings out there together, but I was stunned at how much they struggled off the dribble to get by the much bigger (and slower) guys that were defending them. That's a pretty solid SD team, though, and those guys are all young.

Uju doesn't look as explosive as he did in his limited action last year, dunno if he ever fully recovered from his injury last year. But still I'd like his minutes to come at the 4/5 with Plowden more at the 3.

We definitely need far more production out of Wiggins. Especially since a team like SD. They didn't really impress me as super athletic in the post, but he REALLY struggled getting the ball out to open guys off the double. You cannot run your offense through your center if he's turning it over constantly.

Turner struggled with his shot and the fouls hurt with him on the bench. But again the kid shows a tremendous ability to pass and setup teammates when the defense is working to take his shot away (and Huger said they put their best defender on him from the opening tip).

How can anybody NOT be excited about this team? We haven't had a collection of talent like this in a long time. In 2 games we've had a true freshman go for 15 & 14. We've had a RS Freshman go for 33 points and has 12 assists in 2 games. We've got a true sophomore shooting 50% from 3 and averaging 16 through the first 2 games. We've got another true freshman averaging 8 ppg & 5 rpg in only 18 mins and shooting 70% from the field. If this group of talent develops and gels together they've got promising young players at 4 positions, and a quality Junior Center that should be the anchor. It is VERY tough to win the league and many games when you're as young as we are, but this group very well could be the group that brings BG basketball back from the abyss.

Agreed, that would be my rotation as well. And if he continues to be so good with moving the ball I'd consider using Turner as a LeBron-esque point forward. Neither of our PGs have demonstrated as much skill setting up teammates as Turner already has.

The Coyotes found the stop Wiggins magic. You push him away from the basket and he becomes ineffective. When he's on the block he can score but if you get him 8 feet away from the rim he's either going to put up a low percentage running hook to the middle or incorrectly read the help side defense and try a jump skip pass. Don't throw Wiggins the ball unless he's on the block.

Excuse my ignorance for not knowing, but what is going on with Lillard? Is he suspended? Whatever it is, hopefully we get him back soon. It will be nice to have another veteran on the court that can score. If he can start playing anything like he did late in his Freshman season, he will be a huge help to this team. Very excited for the future though, like many said I think the next two seasons will be our time to shine, but this year will be a building season where we need to start seeing improvement in terms of wins, especially in the MAC.

Suspended the first 8 games for violation of team rules.

Team looked good in what was a horribly officiated game. I've reffed HS ball for 4 years and literally don't believe I could ever call a game as a tight as those guys did. 50 fouls totally took the rhythm out of the game, luckily for SD they were able to get hot from 3 and pull away enough to win. Kind of a shame as this Falcons team is pretty damn athletic, lost our advantage with the pace
