BG vs. Lake Erie College

Post by mbenecke »

The men take on the Lake Erie College Storm on Monday night at 7:00pm in the Stroh.

They are 2-2 on the year, with their results so far looking something like this:

L 73-58 @ Ashland
W 83-71 vs. Tiffin
W 94-63 vs. Point Park
L 73-68 @ Central State

They shoot 43.2% from the field, 30% from beyond the arc, and just 55.6% from the charity stripe. This should be a game that we should control from start to finish.

Something to note: They have this game listed on their schedule as an exhibition. I found that to be strange.

Go Falcons!

It was the same situation when Ferris State beat BG a few years ago (that loss still stings). It counted as a regular season loss for BG and an exhibition win for Ferris State.

This team seems like it's in flux with 8 guys getting starts in just 4 games.

10 SO G Gabe Kynard 6-0 185 4 starts 9.3ppg, 3.3rpg, 3.3apg
03 So G Jordan Humphrey 6-4 185 4 starts 6.5 ppg, 2.8rpg
01 SO G Erron James 6-1 190 3 starts 7ppg, 6.3rpg, 3.3apg
32 SO F Mitch Loomis 6-7 220 2 starts 9.3ppg, 5rpg, 1.5bpg
14 JR G Brogan Scott 6-5 200 2 starts 5ppg, 4rpg
44 SR F Micheal Morris 6-7 230 2 starts 4.3ppg, 2rpg
05 FR F Lamont Rhodes 6-7 215 2 starts 4ppg, 3rpg
15 SR G Kyle Hagey 5-11 175 1 start 1.7ppg

23 SO F Ryan Middendorf 6-5 190 14.3ppg 50% from 3.4rpg
33 JR C David Dunnigan 6-8 250 7ppg, 4.3rpg
11 FR G Harrison Riggs 6-0 170 5.5ppg, 3rpg

Question: When you're playing a team that is a division lower than you whats to stop you from recruiting their best players?

Still planning on heading to the Stroh for this one. Hope we can control this one from the tip, but wouldn't be surprised if we end up with a very sluggish start to the game. Only 1 day of rest after a huge emotional victory lends itself to a "trap game" type situation.

Should handle a team like this without any trouble though as the game wears on. Tallest guy is 6'8? I expect a whole lot of tossing it down to Wiggins.

But Fox hasn't committed a turnover.

Welp, that was crappy. So what's up with Turner? Pretty sure he had a boot on...

This is going to be a roller coaster ride. I wasn't surprised Turner didn't play since he was limping the last few minutes of the FGCU game but what about Gadson?

We put Good on scholarship to not play him in an OT game 2 days after a battle with FGCU?
Played 8 guys. 2 out tonight for unknown? 1 injured all year? One suspended for the first month.
Could have used that scholarship tonight.
