James Morgan to transfer

Post by Dayons_Den »

Per John Wagner on Twitter, BGSU has granted James Morgan his release.

Not surprising, certainly wish him the best as he has talent and tools to be a really good QB. Wish he would've developed as a Falcon, but nonetheless wish him nothing but success at his next school.

Wilton Speight is also available. I wonder what MAC school he will end up at.

This is too bad. The kid was extremely talented.

Good for him. I'm really glad to see this. He always seemed to have a really good attitude. I wish him the best.

I don’t think he’ll end up at a MAC school, but if he does, Ohio has landed a Michigan grad transfer each of the last three years so Athens would be a logical choice. Except for the fact that OU is set with a stud in Rourke at QB for two more years.

It’s a little disappointing, but he really couldn’t ever put it together and was playing very poorly. His completion percentage and decision making was worse this year than last when he was a frosh. He just wasn’t the answer. But his departure certainly makes depth a big concern all over again.

Per Wagner on twitter...he's graduating in May, so he can go play two in two right away at the FBS level. How he managed to get his degree in three years following a football player's routine is beyond me....mostly because I'm not anywhere near smart enough to pull that off.

I'm assuming he took some summer classes over the years, or maybe even came in carrying some credits. Also, if he was an early enrollee, he took some classes during the spring before his redshirt year.

It’s too bad you can’t rid yourself of coaches like this. Just grant them a release and move on. Similar to the way Chris Kingston bailed.

While it reduces depth from the roster, it’s also losing the reason fans were supposed to believe in a unqualified coach in 2017. It’s your turn now Doege for 2018. Watch out for that bus next September. Jinks will need someone to toss underneath it.

Apples to bowling balls...Doege seems far better suited to run the offense than Morgan was

Look...I don't want to get into criticisms of a guy who worked hard while he was here and kept his nose clean, but if you look at the stats and how the offense functioned under each QB, you'll understand how flawed your analogy is....unless you don't care and just want to bitch about something/anything

God forbid we place any blame on Jinx. It's Babers fault......No, no......its Morgan's fault. No, no.......its the Defensive Coordinator's fault....... Blame everyone else except for the clown that's in charge of the weekly clown show. Depressing that our expectations have fallen so low that we just accept the state of our program right now and look to lay blame on anything else EXCEPT for the real problem. Jinx should have been fired the morning after the Eastern Michigan loss. And I'll call bullshit on anyone that tells me that "we don't have the money to buy him out".
