Re: James Morgan to transfer
Best of luck to James and it's great he's able to graduate this quickly. Hopefully he lands somewhere that he can get a fresh start and show that the hype about him coming out of high school was legit.

Or you know you could just say that a talented QB lost his confidence and struggled to find his game all season long. Not sure what the staff can do about the guy consistently overthrowing receivers or making terrible decisions. Morgan needs a fresh start and a change of scenery and this will give Doege the reigns to the offense for the next three seasons. No use in speculating what goes on behind the scenes. Doege established himself as the more competent QB.CrazyFan wrote:God forbid we place any blame on Jinx. It's Babers fault......No, no......its Morgan's fault. No, no.......its the Defensive Coordinator's fault....... Blame everyone else except for the clown that's in charge of the weekly clown show. Depressing that our expectations have fallen so low that we just accept the state of our program right now and look to lay blame on anything else EXCEPT for the real problem. Jinx should have been fired the morning after the Eastern Michigan loss. And I'll call bullshit on anyone that tells me that "we don't have the money to buy him out".guest44 wrote:While it reduces depth from the roster, it’s also losing the reason fans were supposed to believe in a unqualified coach in 2017. It’s your turn now Doege for 2018. Watch out for that bus next September. Jinks will need someone to toss underneath it.

Until next year. Until that Jinx bus gets fired up. And who says that Morgan couldn't have been a stud had he had a coach that knew anything else other than how to beat Texas High School Teams?jpfalcon09 wrote:Or you know you could just say that a talented QB lost his confidence and struggled to find his game all season long. Re: James Morgan to transfer
I'm not defending Jinks here whatsoever. Morgan was touted out of high school as having a big arm but he lacked the accuracy needed to be efficient. Again, I don't know what the coaches are expected to do if the guy can't put touch on the ball. Using this as an axe to grind against Jinks is silly, not his fault the dude couldn't consistently complete 50% of his passes. You want to bitch about schemes and refusing to make necessary adjustments to be successful then I'm all ears.CrazyFan wrote:Until next year. Until that Jinx bus gets fired up. 6-18 is silly. The hire was silly. A 5 year contract was silly. The AD leaving 4 months after the hire was silly. Not fixing a hire this bad ASAP is silly. Losing to your rival 8 times in a row is silly. Having them drop 66 on you in front of 1000 fans is silly. Best of luck to Morgan in the future.

Shane Morris last year transferred from Michigan to CMU.BGSU33 wrote:I don’t think he’ll end up at a MAC school, but if he does, Ohio has landed a Michigan grad transfer each of the last three years so Athens would be a logical choice. Except for the fact that OU is set with a stud in Rourke at QB for two more years.gmartin wrote:Wilton Speight is also available. I wonder what MAC school he will end up at.

Re: James Morgan to transfer
I was fairly excited for him after last year but he really did go backwards this year. Doege flat out took his job. I believe every coach deserves at the very least 3 years to get their guys in the program. If you don't believe that babers left the fridge empty then you just have no eye for talent.
Re: James Morgan to transfer
I’m no talent evaluator but I could tell Louis Orr was going nowhere, just like I and most of the BG fan base believes Mike Jinks is going nowhere. It’s to the point where BG fans are willing to accept losing to Eastern Michigan in back to back years. I’m not sure Eastern Michigan has a fan outside of the players parents. Doege was great against Toledo, BG lost by 30 at home in front of more Toledo fans than BG fans. And not one person within the department has addressed the season.

Losing to a D2 Program on your home field during Family Weekend, when you are supposed to be showcasing your program and bringing more fans in, is silly. Looking up every year and now having to refer to Eastern Michigan as “Daddy” is silly. Having OU and Northern drop 48 on you in consecutive weeks is silly. Continuing to scapegoat for a terrible head coach is silly. This once proud football program is now silly.guest44 wrote:6-18 is silly. The hire was silly. A 5 year contract was silly. Yes, we know. The dead horse has been beaten to a pulp. Unfortunately for many he's here for at least another year. I've been his biggest detractor all season long and I remain unconvinced he's got the tools to be successful here, but we have to deal with it. I'd recommend channeling your energy elsewhere if he bothers you that much because no matter how much we all complain, nothing is going to change for 2018.guest44 wrote:6-18 is silly. What a message to send to a fan base. Shut up and don’t care, because we don’t. That’s why the rival owns you for 66 points and it could have been 80.

What does this even mean? I don't think anyone here thinks we should be losing to Eastern Michigan. The questions are: Why did this happen, and what can be done about it? On this, we have immense disagreement.guest44 wrote:It’s to the point where BG fans are willing to accept losing to Eastern Michigan in back to back years.

Reading the same post countless times in several threads is tiring. I'm all for criticism but we're all aware of the score and that Jinks isn't going anywhere. Losing to Toledo again sucks, we know. Shoot Moose or Mazey an email if you're that concerned and offer to help should the time come the university needs resources to make a change.guest44 wrote:What a message to send to a fan base.
