BGSU SID:

Haven’t heard from you in a while (if I was the SID and the team blew this bad I’d stay low also). Since we can’t hear anything from Moose or Jinx, can you give a synapsis of the season other than we sucked? Any big changes coming for next year? Maybe we can get a breakdown on how this trainwreck two year stetch compares to other trainwreck seasons in BGSU history? Also can we get an update on how the 2 football coaches legal probation for the “bouncer incident” is going?

Maybe the mess in Knoxville will save us from Jinx because he'll be the only person left who wants that job :-D

When did failing to spastically regurgitate the same complaints about the program become defending Jinks or voicing approval for losing? James Morgan worked hard here and got his degree. He represented the University well as an athlete and by all accounts..a person. Another player arrived who demonstrated a skill set better suited for running this team. I wish Morgan well in finding a program that suits him...I hope he does well on the field and gets a running start towards a post grad degree.

Mike Jinks will be our coach in 2018. That is one thing you'll have to accept...I'm not certain I WANT him to leave at this point. He has shown an ability to recruit and we cannot afford to move coaches in and out on two year cycles...financially and otherwise. The program needs some stability.

I would hope he would reach out to his mentors in Texas and other coaches he has no doubt met in his time here to find some more experienced assistants...particularly on defense and in the area of strength and conditioning. I don't think he's a stupid man...I hope he's got the sense to see that friendship is a wonderful thing, but you can't let it blind you to reality.

It is not often that I agree with Flipper but he is correct about the constant complaining, Morgan, and about coach Jinks. The constant complaining does no good. I am glad that Morgan will get his degree and I wish him well. Jinks has also shown the ability to recruit which Babers did NOT show. I also agree that an experienced assistant or assistants would be a big help. And Crazy Fan, we do NOT have the money to get rid of him with our budget at the bottom of the MAC.

I'm as disheartened at the way the last 2 years has gone as anybody else is, but damn, throwing out the same line of bitching over and over gets old. We all get it. Mistakes have been made. Things suck right now. As fans, there are some things we just can't change no matter how much we complain. Like Flipper said, not spending all our time spewing constant criticisms doesn't mean we are endorsing losing. There comes a point when we have to accept reality, no matter how bad reality sucks. We all want things to get better. We have to hope that coaches and administrators learn from the mistakes made and do better moving forward. I'm hopeful things turn around sooner than later, but I don't see it happening overnight. So if you have expectations of us winning a conference championship next year and can't stomach any other alternative, you might want to find a different hobby for the fall to save yourself the stress.

If we can make improvements to the O line next year, we'll have an offense that can put points on the board in this league. We have to build a competent defense if we're going to get back to winning consistently and that'll take time, given where we're at. I'm not sure anyone on the current staff is well suited to do that, so I'm hoping Jinks will make it a priority to bring in some help in that area.

I love this! Because I don't put on the Orange and Brown glasses and scream rah rah for anything that happens, good or bad, I'm a "troll". I guess anyone that strongly voices their displeasure as fans are "trolls". Maybe I should just brag about the hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars I give to the university and just keep my mouth shut. (P.S. I don't give hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars to the university - God unfortunately hasn't afforded me with that gift). And I'm a BG Grad and have been following and attending BG games for the last 20 years, so I won't be going away. Maybe when the university replaces the problem of our football program, aka Mike Jinx, I'll stop bitching. But until then I'll continue to voice my displeasure with the program. Go Falcons!

Yes, but can you do it somewhere else, too?

I'm serious.

You trolled the athletic department SID a few posts ago. What was the point of that? Do you really think the athletic department was going to get into a back and forth with you on this message board?

The SID has a name. It's Jason Knavel. His phone number is 372-7075. Call him. Or write him an email at [email protected].

Or, better yet (since it probably isn't Jason Knavel's job to take random phone calls from grumpy fans), why don't you contact Moose yourself? You can write him an email [email protected]. His phone number is 372-7052.

I don't know if they will respond to you. But they might. It's worth a try. It seems like it would be more productive than just trolling them here.

Knavel and Moose will reply back. They have to me. Don't expect it to be the same day but they will get back with you within a week unless of course your message to them is deemed inappropriate and coming from CrazyFan I can see that happening.

Several folks have posted a need for staff changes, preferably bringing in some assts. with more experience etc.
With all the changes taking place at Fla., Tenn. UCLA, Nebraska etc. it would seem there should a lot of assts. looking for a job. Coming from some of these programs would involve a pay cut to come to BG, but there have got to be some experienced guys available. It's Jinks job to reach out, replace some guys he brought in last yr.
Like last year, there will literally be a couple hundred plus guys looking for work.
Education our Challenge, Excellence our goal. (look it up)

Never know, with everyone who has already turned down Tennessee maybe they will come offer its job to Jinks.

Eventually all the complaining turns you into the mess Tennessee has where the fans are an angry mob and no one wants to coach there. I certainly don't want BGSU to end up with a similar reputation because some "fans" have nothing better to do.

I would take the Tenessee situation anyday over the current BG situation. Fans that care, money to burn, and not locked in to a guy that in is way in over its head. Especially when the person who hired him, bolted to not be an AD anymore, and suddenly went Twitter silent. If Greg Christopher taught me anything it’s question the decision makers as much as anyone especially when the exit is fishy.
