See Flip, I look at it differently. At least by firing Jinx you’re going to energize your program and fan base by bringing in a someone new and give some hope back into the program. We let Jinx rot out the last 3 years of his contract, were going to be continually winning 2-4 games per year. We’ll be losing an already dwindling fan base each year because people will not be interested anymore, except for the few die hards that are left. And with that, the attendance will be back to how it was during the last few Blackney years; absolutely abysmal. It’s already there looking at the attendance of some of our last home games. More pressure to find other sources to fund the athletic department will be needed, because it’s main draw, the football program, will be bringing in s**t for revenue because nobody cares and will be coming to the games. We’ll then be forced to keep finding “pay days” against the big boys, where we’ll continually get our azzes kicked and 70 points dropped on us, not getting us any closer to gaining fans back.Flipper wrote:OK..so we fire Jinks. The next guy goes 2-10 and then 3-9 and recruits near the bottom of the MAC. WTF do you do then? Fire him too? Gonna pay to buyout Jniks for three years and then the next guy for three years? How many people do ou think you can pay NOT to be here? We pretty much HAVE to give Jinks at least two more years. Hopefully...we'll be improved by then...we'd almost have to be
I am 99% certain that the money we will lose in the next 3 years over lower game day experience income (attendance, concessions, parking fees, etc), season tickets and also lower donations, because why would most people want to donate to that train wreck of a program, will be WELL over the cost of what it would be to give Mike Jinx his walking papers today. And right now there is a ton of better coaching options on the market. We all know, well at least most of us know, that this is not going to work out. Using the eye test, we all know Jinx is in way over his head. So cut bait, bring in someone new to reenergize the program and fans, and hope for the best. If not, sit around and watch this trash football for the next 3 years and continue to hemorrhage revenue you could be making with a decent to good program.
