Gonna pay to buyout Jniks for three years and then the next guy for three years? How many people do ou think you can pay NOT to be here? We pretty much HAVE to give Jinks at least two more years. Hopefully...we'll be improved by then...we'd almost have to be
See Flip, I look at it differently. At least by firing Jinx you’re going to energize your program and fan base by bringing in a someone new and give some hope back into the program. We let Jinx rot out the last 3 years of his contract, were going to be continually winning 2-4 games per year. We’ll be losing an already dwindling fan base each year because people will not be interested anymore, except for the few die hards that are left. And with that, the attendance will be back to how it was during the last few Blackney years; absolutely abysmal. It’s already there looking at the attendance of some of our last home games. More pressure to find other sources to fund the athletic department will be needed, because it’s main draw, the football program, will be bringing in s**t for revenue because nobody cares and will be coming to the games. We’ll then be forced to keep finding “pay days” against the big boys, where we’ll continually get our azzes kicked and 70 points dropped on us, not getting us any closer to gaining fans back.

I am 99% certain that the money we will lose in the next 3 years over lower game day experience income (attendance, concessions, parking fees, etc), season tickets and also lower donations, because why would most people want to donate to that train wreck of a program, will be WELL over the cost of what it would be to give Mike Jinx his walking papers today. And right now there is a ton of better coaching options on the market. We all know, well at least most of us know, that this is not going to work out. Using the eye test, we all know Jinx is in way over his head. So cut bait, bring in someone new to reenergize the program and fans, and hope for the best. If not, sit around and watch this trash football for the next 3 years and continue to hemorrhage revenue you could be making with a decent to good program.

Doing this will only cause more players to transfer out and push being competitive back 3-4 more years. The university is going to give Jinks every opportunity to get his players in here to show what he can do before they decide to move on.

Can only imagine the other garbage he is saying. I didn't approve of the Jinks hire but whom is this Jinx he is talking about. He isn't even talking about the correct person. So immature. I don't see us doing much better next year but with Claire and Doege I think we should at least get back to 4 - 8. They are not going to fire Jinks. We are stuck with him for 3 more years.
My mistake. I stand corrected and apologize for the uniformed information. I guess they are D1. I guess my brain was still in football mode and forgot there were 347 D1 NCAA Basketball programs. But I would venture to guess that 75% of the people reading this board never heard of USC Upstate or ACU (Abilene Christian University). My point was, because of how bad Orr buried the program, were still digging out and having to schedule tournaments with those types of teams instead of playing the quality, known opponents. Not a dig against Huger and crew, I’m sure their trying their best to schedule quality opponents, but top programs don’t have to schedule themselves in those tournaments with 3 unknowns. If Huger can get us there is what we’ll find out, but I’ll be patient with him because he is showing progress, unlike Mike Jinxs’ program.

And I guess since you have me blocked, you didn't see my earlier post a while back where I said I would no longer refer to him as Mike Jinks; I would refer to him as what he has become to our program, Mike Jinx. And if you are accepting of a 4-8 record in year 3, then that's you. I am not. As I'm sure plenty of fans are not also.

I agree with crazyfan mostly, problem is it's just not going to happen. This guy is going to get 4 or 5 years no matter how awful he is and has been.

I am not a Jinks supporter. I said from day 1 it was a bad hire. I don't even think he is Coordinator qualified. He didn't even have an agent. Kingston just wanted to hire someone before he left town. Do i want him fired? No, I don't want anyone fired but since he is over his head I would like him to step down but neither of those things will happen. I know dozens of people in the athletic department and they are not happy with the record this year but they really do not have the 1.5 million to buy him out. After next year it will be a million buyout. Maybe funds will be available next year. Do I like a 4-8 record. Absolutely not!! BG should be 9-3 every year, at worst 8-4 but competing for the title in week 11, not already eliminated in week 8. I just said next year with Doege and Clair we should be able to at least get 4 wins.
