I think it's safe to say that the better team lost both nights. MSU took the play to us most of the game Friday night, especially during the second period and we held them off. Last night we took it to them most of the game and came up short as well. I would love to say that we swept State, but I have a sneaking suspicion we'll get that oppertunity in the First Round.

I don't agree with the major on Foster. The guy was out of position, Foster hit him from the side NOT behind, Wilkins turned his head and went up ice and a few seconds later turned back and made the call only after McKenzie stayed down. That was a total load of crap. Make the call initially and not after 3 seconds of acting. I guess on a night where any marginal call went against us I guess a 2 minute minor would be in order, but a major was just ridiculous. We always flame the refs for being the flamers that they are. Going on the road into MSU this is something I expected. That doesn't make it right, but regardless I knew it was coming.

One thing that impressed me was the layout of Munn. This was my first trip up there and was really impressed with the rink, you could see from anywhere you went! The fans also were very polite, I had nice conversations with a good number and no one went out of their way to be rude. As much as I hate that ugly gosh-awful team, I applaud their fans for being some of the nicer ones I've met. Of course some of this is relative b/c the other road venues I've been to are tOSU and Yost. Anyways, lets get pumped for Michigan this weekend!!

That was a tough loss. We were right there. I was watching the replay last night on Fox Sports Ohio and missed the major penalty at the end. I must have been getting into the fridge for a glass of water or taking a bathroom break. That was a tough call at the end of the game and really made it next to impossible for us to tie it up and send it into OT. As has been mentioned, though, we still have home ice wrapped up. Let's get out to the BGSU Ice Arena this Friday and beat the rodents! Can't wait to get up there for that one! LET'S GO FALCON ICERS!

Munn was a nice arena. Having the benchs on opposite sides for the ice was a little weird, and it almost bit us a couple of times. It was a nice place to "watch" a hockey game. However I don't go to "watch". I go to help cheer my team onto a victory.

Their fans actually weren't that bad. The couple of students that came over with the cowbell where kinda a-holes, but that I kinda expected. Me and my group behind the MSU net got heckled pretty much all night, but the same ones who were heckling us where also some of the same ones who were shaking our hands and genunily thanking us for coming and being so passionate about supporting our team, even when we had lost.

The major penalty hurt and was a bad/good call. It was boarding. He took a couple of steps and ran the MSU guy into the boards. However I don't feel it was worth 5 mintues. I think the reason he got 5 was partly because of a decent acting job, and partly due to crowd pressure. My buddies and I figured at that point between Foster and the 5 of us, we were some of the most hated people in East Lansing.

I am looking forward to the games this weekend vs U of M. I'm just sorry I won't be there since I'll be out of town with a teaching gig. Somebody please call the wolverines jackasses and tell them they still suck for me!!! Go Falcons!!!
