We won't have Perry Eliano to kick around anymore...

Here’s hoping they have already contacted Nick Monroe. Defensive guy and GREAT recruiter with a BG background

Chance for Jinks to bring in someone with coaching experience and who could serve in a mentor type role. All the best to Perry.

Thank God! And I again say this: Paul Haynes would be an excellent pick for DC. Veteran coach, former HC, defensive background, DC experience. All desperately needed on this coaching staff.
Jinks let his old buddy go. Gives me some hope.

He would be another guy I'd love to see here again...factman wrote:Here’s hoping they have already contacted Nick Monroe. Defensive guy and GREAT recruiter with a BG background

[quote="CrazyFan"]Nothing like being the fall guy!! Sorry Eliano. We all know where the problem with that football team lies; Mike Jinx. And he gets to keep his job and continue to steal a lot of money from the university.[/quote

You beat me to it. Nick is an intense, but cool guy who was our top FLA. recruiter for yrs., with good Ohio contacts too. Coupled w/ the guys who do most of the TEX recruiting, would make an interesting combination.
Solid DB coach. Is he ready to run an entire defense?

Re: We won't have Perry Eliano to kick around anymore...
He has been in college coaching 16 years, and was a co-defensive coordinator at Colgate prior to coming to BG. He’d be the most experienced guy on the staff by far.
Re: We won't have Perry Eliano to kick around anymore...
.......also has the Elko background, to go along with the FL recruiting background.
Re: We won't have Perry Eliano to kick around anymore...
16 years of coaching and he has by far more experience than anyone else on the staff? That explains a lot ...
If Haynes is a no, Monroe is a great pick. He was the secondary coach for Clawson right? That group got better each year. That would be a great choice.

Beckman would be...interesting. Like Haynes, he really isn't doing much right now (volunteer AC) and could get right out there on the recruiting trail

And then abuse the players. He was fired amid an abuse scandal at Illinois.Flipper wrote:Beckman would be...interesting. Like Haynes, he really isn't doing much right now (volunteer AC) and could get right out there on the recruiting trail

When he was HC...as an assistant you could easily argue he's on a short leash

After what that turd did in the post game presser about having the BG wallpaper covered up, if they tried to bring him in here I'd personally lead a Tennessee/Schiano type revolt against the hire. Beckman = school on Christmas - no class.

Most are on an annual basis, some at SEC and other high level schools may have multiple year contracts, but they are usually just the coordinators.Schadenfreude wrote:Five-year contracts are standard for Division I head football coaches (which is why criticizing BGSU for the length of Jinks's contract is silly).guest44 wrote:Eliano must not have asked for a 5 year contract. Or he didn’t have an agent to convince Kingston to give him one.
I'll stand corrected on this, but I believe the standard for Division I football assistants is an annual contract.
