South Dakota State

Post by fredthefalcon »

This one is going to be rough. The Jackrabbits have only lost twice, one of them to #4 Louisville by 4. They have beaten NC State and Oklahoma as well. Other loss is to Green Bay on road. Plenty of size at 6'+. Have a couple of P5 transfers on the rosters. First true test against a really good team that is probably better than any in the MAC. No free video.

Going to be a difficult game for sure. Our athletic programs have not fared well with the state of South Dakota this year. We definitely need to have some production out of our post players today.

Another butt kicking by a South Dakota team. 1st football, then Men's basketball and now it's the women's turn.

Down by 22 @ half. 21-43.

BG has made only 7 baskets the entire 1st half.

Sad day in BGSU hoops, men and women both get blown out. High Scorer in the game is Cecil with 7! Outrebounded 52-30.

What a sucky feed. I got live stats only, no audio or video. 76.44 final.

Not the result any of us wanted, but as several people basically said, not exactly a surprise, either.

We are a better team than last year, and we are more fun to watch, too. But, SDSU is the best team we will play all year, and we are simply not deep or talented enough to hang with a team like that for 40 minutes on the road.

If you had told me at the start of the season that we would be 7-2 after 9 games, I would have asked to have some of whatever you were smoking. I'm thrilled that we are off to such a good start, despite the loss last night.

Consider the fact that Cecil’s team high 7 points consisted of one field goal. She was 5/6 from the foul line. I also noticed that the stat sheets had us way below our normal field goal percentages. SDSU obviously had us scouted well, as it’s hard to believe that we all of a sudden got stone cold from the field after shooting well all season. They apparently did something that totally disrupted that which we typically do well. The Jackrabbits did not get that good by ignoring the strengths of their opposition. It was a good game for the Falcons to help them understand where they are as a team, and what they need to do to transition from a good team into a great team. Sounded like our inside game is still AWOL! Go get the next one, Falcons!
