All time against Ferris in hockey, we are 64-59-12.
We will take on the Bulldogs in WCHA conference action on Saturday at 5:07pm and Sunday at 3:07pm.
This year's Bulldogs are 9-12-1, including 6-7-1 in WCHA play, which is good for just 6th in the conference. They seem to be extremely inconsistent, as they lost to Michigan 7-2 one night, and then beat them 3-2 the following night. They also lost 6-1 to Western before beating them 3-2 the following night. Most recently, they are coming in on an exhibition loss to the US National Team Development Program by a score of 5-1, the same team that we defeated back in October by a score of 4-1. Before that, they had been swept by Northern Michigan by scores of 6-1 and 4-2. They have not won a game since December 8th against Michigan Tech.
Last season, we went 4-2 against them, including sweeping them in the first round of the WCHA playoffs. In our last 12 against Ferris, dating back to the 2014-2015 season, we are 9-3. It is clear, however, that we have much less success against them on the road than at home.
Ultimately, I feel that we will get things done this weekend and get our first 6 point conference sweep. I think we win a close one Saturday by a score of 4-2, and then we explode on Sunday afternoon to win 6-2.
We need the momentum to keep on rolling with a crucial date with Northern Michigan on the horizon next weekend.
