Re: New Assistants
Maybe you could put a ? in the title so people don't click on it thinking they made the hires?

Re: New Assistants ?
Given that most of our recruiting class has already committed, the urgency to add a new coach or two might have lessened a bit.
Re: New Assistants ?
Ryan Downard, safeties coach, has left the program to take a position with the Green Bay Packers.

Good luck to him. Another spot for Pelini to bring in one of his guys which is a good thing.mbenecke wrote:Ryan Downard, safeties coach, has left the program to take a position with the Green Bay Packers.

Agreed. I trust Pelini, so it will be good for him to hand-pick the guys he wants.jpfalcon09 wrote:Good luck to him. Re: New Assistants ?
I trust the guy too but before we get ahead of ourselves, let's remember he hasn't even overseen a practice yet. That said I'm awfully excited at what the talent this team has could look like with a good, perhaps even great defense.

Re: New Assistants ?
Looks as if we'll have an almost total turnover on defensive staff if this continues. Now big question will be, can we find some solid, preferably experienced staff as replacements.
Education our Challenge, Excellence our goal. (look it up)
Re: New Assistants ?
Marcus White (D-Line) and Matt Brock are the only coaches that are returning on that side of the ball, I do believe. Brock is Special Teams coordinator, but he also coached linebackers and was a Broyles Award nominee.Class of 61 wrote:Looks as if we'll have an almost total turnover on defensive staff if this continues. I am cautiously optimistic that Pelini will get some good, experienced coaches hired and he will be able to right the ship defensively. Combine that with Doege, Clair, and co. on offense? We could be scary again! I believe in this team.

I’m in, I’ll coach you sorry ass buzzards how to beat the mighty Toledo Rockets at least once every 10 years or so.
