So what is his current W/L/T record, then? And how does win percentage work with ties involved? Asking for someone smarter than me to give a dumb response. Haha

Ugh. Embarrassed to say I didn't check Twitter this morning (a subscriber to the BGSUHockey.com feed!) before posting this. Note to self...check Drew's stuff before posting anything.

BG moved up to #17 in pairwise ranking, up from #20 last week. That's mainly because seven teams right above and below BG all lost. Technically #18 because Canisius is the conference leader and its Pairwise is mid 20s and they get the automatic berth. Just keep winning and maybe BG we'll get lucky and more teams directly above them will lose pushing them up in the rankings. Lets get the sweep tonight.

He’s 138-139-39 overall. Ties count as half of a win for purposes of winning percentage. So it’s wins plus half of the ties first then you divide that number by the total games. So the math looks like this: (138+19.5) / 316 = 0.498

Everybody above BG can tank the rest of the season, and BG can win out and still not be high enough for an at-large. It's not going to happen because of strength of schedule and games remaining. There's only one path to a longer post-season, and it's the same as every year.

I think from the predictor simulation that I ran BG can lose one more game. However that would have to be in the championship game of the WCHA championship.

Or you can make the math really easy and ignore the ties. Just see if the wins equal the losses.

Well yeah. Lol. I suppose that works. I was just confused whether ties didn't count towards win percentage or what. Because to me, ties aren't wins, so his "win percentage" should be 138 / 316 = .436, since those are the only games he has actually won. I was just unaware that part of a tie counts as a win.

In calculating winning percentages, the NFL has counted ties as a half win and half loss since 1972. Before then they just disregarded the ties.

In Friday's game, in regard to the major for goalie interference, the Laker radio guys said the Laker player was clearly pushed into Bednard. What did you viewers see?

3-0 after 1.

Spezia with 2 goals. McLain with the other. Now let's keep the pressure on. Don't let up.

Playing with no energy and it cost us. Lakers score 2 goals and it's now 3-2 after 2 periods.

No real idea, although I'm speculating that Bergeron wants to ride the hot hand. And seeing as Bednard has won his last 3 starts including tonight, I don't blame him.
