BG @ NIU

Post by gmartin »

BG on the road vs NIU today. Today and game against Akron about our only remaining hopes for win. Not going to win against Miami or Ohio and still have to play Buffalo (18-4) twice. So today and against Akron our last reasonable chance of a win. However remember the last time we went on the road to face a team in red, only a 40 point loss. My prediction, NIU 68 BG 55.

Edit: BG up by 3 after 1 period.

We still have the second half to get through. We could still end up losing this game by 10.

Just got home from that game. It wasn't even as close as it sounds. Central played all subs, 4 freshman, the last 7 minutes and still out scored the rockets 20-8

46-46 because we can't stop fouling them!

56-49 end of the 3rd. We are down 7. In large part because they are 17 of 20 for free throws. We are 4-8. Can you imagine a Curt Miller team shooting 50% fro. The line? Or having that kind of imbalance in fouls. There is still a chance to pull this one out. It's going to need a smart 4th quarter.

Back to reality. BG now down 7.

Perry, Glowniak and Uecker, through 3 quarters ZERO points. Only 8 rebounds. Pathetic post play.

Bench Lambert. It must be written in her scholarship somewhere that says she needs to dribble the ball for 15 seconds every possession.

Outscored 26-14 in the 3rd quarter and NIU is shooting lights out from the FT line. Geeze, we were fouling once or twice on every play, some pretty stupid fouls in the backcourt.

And another loss. 2-11. 1 more chance at a win, against Akron. Not beating Buffalo in both games, nor Miami or Ohio.

Looks like 3-15 conference record. Yippie!!!

Yes and she sat Santoro about six minutes on the third. That when they made run. Like Roos wants to lose.

Also happy to see Cecil have a nice game. Hope she can finish season strong.
