BG vs. WMU (2/13)

Post by mbenecke »

Big one tonight. Hope there's a good crowd on hand. This team has been good enough this year to deserve at least 2500 a night.

This is a big game. We're in such a hodgepodge for seeding every win is important. And we've got 2 against Buffalo looming, which will be VERY difficult to win.

Hopefully Rod is ok to go and we can come out with a full roster tonight.

Caldwell practiced yesterday and should be ready to go tonight, according to Coach Huger. Same for Wiggins.

Miami plays at Eastern. Go Eagles.

A BG win AND Miami loss and BG would move up to the #4 seed.

7 min straight without a single whistle. First time out wasn't even a media time out. BG had to call time out with 10:00 left. 9 subs coming in. Everyone is gassed and BG down by 7.

Lillard stop shooting outside shots. Missed 3 three pointers. And has 2 bad turnovers. His play drives me nuts.

Under 8, BG is down 28-23. From what I have seen so far (from about the 10 minute mark to now) they have just been making the deep ball. If we can close out better and disrupt on the outside, we have a good shot in this game.

Under 4, BG is down 37-27. Wiggins to the line for 2 after the media timeout.

Defense just needs to be more engaged. We're slow on rotations, and lazy boxing out.

WMU has made 5 outside 3 pointers but they also have had 4 cuts to the basket for easy layups. BG down 10 and WMU hasn't even attempted a FT

WMU just couldn't miss in the first half. They shot right around 60%, and hit 6 threes.

Halftime: WMU 45, BG 34.

If we could just get a few stops, we would be right in this game.

Huger needs to play Fox over Lillard tonight. Lillard 1-7, 2 pts, 2 rebounds. 2 turnovers, should been 3. Fouled a WMU shooter on a 3 point shot. And let his guy he was guarding make 3 3 pointers. For what he is giving us tonight I would play Fox.

The only real difference in this game has been 3-point shooting. They're 6/14, and we're 1/7. Other than that, it's petty much even. They're making more threes, and we're making almost exclusively twos.

I agree that I would play Fox tonight. My ideal lineup would be Frye, Turner, Fox, Koch/Plowden, and Wiggins.

I may even go one step further and go smaller. Put Caldwell in there instead of Koch. Speed up the game and try and hit some outside shots.

Hot start to the 2nd half leads to a WMU timeout. Broncos up 47-46, just 2:50 into the 2nd half.

2nd half team is an understatement...
