I just got that notification from WTOL! Very interesting.

She's a great person, but I am glad we are moving in a new direction.

I wonder who we will hire.

Please hire this entire coaching staff.

She is only 99 - 2 in 3 season that Ashland.
She is also familiar recruiting in Ohio. This would be my number one choice.

Fralick boasts a 99-2 record in her three seasons as the Eagles’ head coach, along with the 2017 NCAA Division II national championship (where her team set a record for most points in a season at 3,456 and the first team to win a national title with a 37-0 record), the 2016-17 WBCA Division II Coach of the Year award and two Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Coach of the Year awards.

Campo said keeping Fralick as head coach will hopefully build AU into a women’s basketball dynasty.

“Coach Fralick’s remarkable success makes her a coveted leader, and we wanted to ensure that she stayed here at Ashland to extend what she is building — building on Sue Ramsey's legacy at AU,” Campo said.

Looks like her salary at Ashland is close to $150,000. Maybe BG could offer her $200,000 plus bonuses. If she's the right fit that may be enough to lure her to BG. Looks like her husband still may be an assistant coach with the Ashland men's team. So maybe she isn't looking for a new job. Rumors are Kent State with looking at her last year and if Akron fires their head coach they may be looking at her this year as well.

So it's done.

And now it is easy to hate on Roos but let's be bigger than that. While things did not go the way any of us, her included, would have wanted she was a large part of some very successful women's basketball here at BGSU. We should keep that in mind. 17 years is a long time and she was very involved in the community. I hope her next stop is a successful one. I also think we should thank her for being a loyal Falcon and wish her well in a positive way.

We ARE better than this.

I came here to say this same thing, although I didn't plan to be as polite about it as It's the Journey was.

Those of you who wanted Roos gone ... it's happened, so there's no need to pile on.

Those of you who love Roos as a person but understand why the move was made ... I feel the same way.

Those of you who plan to log on to say rude things about Roos, her staff or the players she recruited ... why don't you keep your rude thoughts to yourself?

So this will be Moose's first hire. Well he go with a lower mid major HC. A top Power 5 assistant coach or a young up and comer D2 coach. I personally do not want a head coach from another school who has been fired due to his/her record. I'm in favor of the coach at Ashland if she's willing to leave Ashland. 99-2 in three seasons is very impressive. The only thing that I'm skeptical there is she was still coaching with the former coaches recruits. The same thing with Coach Roos and Curt Miller. What's different about Ashland is their record improved over the last 3 years and won a national championship. That's the coach I would go after.

My top 3, though I don't know how realistic any of them are:
1. Coach Fralick - Ashland
2. Kate Achter - in her first year as HC at Loyola Chicago, spent time as an assistant at Xavier and played at BG when we went to the Sweet 16
3. Brandi Poole - currently an assistant on Curt Miller's staff in the WNBA, spent 12 years as an assitant on Miller's staff here, was here during the Sweet 16 run

A big Thank You to Coach Roos for 17 years of service to the University...last few years were tough, but if "Once a Falcon always a Falcon" is going to mean anything, we have to be as respectful to the people who go out on a low note as we are the folks who leave on a high.

This might not be an intended consequence...but Jinks and Huger probably have a different perspective on the future now.

That's amazing that a Division II program can afford that.

That Ashland coach sounds really intriguing.

Part of that salary was coming from a grant and from a donor. I would say probably similar to the Frack situation. And as much as I like Kate Achter, I do not want a former player being the coach. Brandi Poole was considered even less of an assistant than Coach Roos. I don't think she would be any better than our current situation. If she was that good of an assistant coach she would have been hired sometime within the last 17 years for a head coaching position. I'm still all in for the coach at Ashland.

On a side note, Ashland is 31-0 this year. I'm not sure if it was an exhibition or regular season game that did not count against their win-loss, but they played at Ohio State and put up 80 points. They also played #1 UConn and scored 60 points. That's some pretty tough competition. Makes me like that coach even more.

And in their 31 wins, they have scored over 100 points 18 times. 4 times over 120 pts!!! They average 104.5ppg. Give up 63ppg. That's a difference of 42 points ppg.
