Transfer
Re: Transfer
The nefarious plan to make all the programs the suckiest teams that ever sucked is right on schedule. Hugers plan was to recruit tiny guards that other schools didn’t want, then 3 years in realize that won’t win. Brilliant. Let’s give him an extension.

Re: Transfer
It's all good. Now Wiggins won't have to keep looking at the bench to see if Koch is coming in to replace him LOL
However, keep a sharp eye on Plowden. If he makes any progress in the off season, he might actually be able to play center and he can DUNK the ball.

Re: Transfer
No worries, our top recruiter missed the last month of the season and was in a wheelchair. I’m sure he will be able to recruit like crazy.

Re: Transfer
Take 2
2018-2019 4 scholarships available
1 Frye, Jr
2 Turner, So(R)-Fields, Fr
3 Lillard, Sr-Plowden, So
4 Kulackovskis, Fr(R)-Uju, Sr(R)
5 Wiggins, Sr-Gadson, So
Do you have any confidence that the guys who haven't filled a roster in 3 years are suddenly going to be able to do so with 4 spots open and the clock winding down?

Re: Transfer
It's never good to have this much turnover. No matter what

Re: Transfer
We lost six in a row to close the season and three guys are bolting...yeah...this is fine.

Re: Transfer
This much turnover is never really a good thing, but transfers are becoming more and more common, especially in basketball.
Akron just lost one of their better players. Cotton, the kid who hit the game winner against us in the first game this past season, announced yesterday that he is transferring out, as well.

I lived through the Dakich era, as did most of us here.mbenecke wrote:This much turnover is never really a good thing, but transfers are becoming more and more common, especially in basketball.

Trust me/us when we tell you that there is no solace in saying that the kids who transfer out "weren't really our best players anyhow."
If this becomes another culture of kids leaving every offseason the best thing you can hope for is spinning your wheels, more frequently you go backwards. Even though none of these kids were major contributors this year, we've just lost/wasted a year (2 in the case of Caldwell) of playing time and development. Next year's team, which was supposed to return nearly everybody, is now likely going to be short on scholarship players or filled out with late desperation signees because we have 4 open slots and it's already mid March.

I think another term for constant turnover is death spiral
