2018-2019 Recruiting
Re: 2018-2019 Recruiting
Globe, you seem to have your finger on the pulse quite a bit. What about Myles Belyeu out of Trotwood-Madison? He's their leading scorer and looks like a hell of an athlete from what I've seen, but doesn't have any D-1 offers. Seems like a good sleeper pickup to me.

His team is still in the tourney. Might be the type of guy we offer late. Wis he was a bit taller.

Re: 2018-2019 Recruiting
There are 3 guys who I think have the biggest upside and are probably going to end up landing D1. Not sure they all fit but they seem like the biggest fish. All seem like they could be centerpieces to teams. I think all are waiting for certain P5 offers.
1. Caleb McConnell 6-5 175
http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/caleb-mcconnell" target="_blank
Have not offered per vc but Kent, OU and Toledo have. Most recent offer was Umass
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGhTSr_fOZc" target="_blank
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDLJHE6_UG4" target="_blank
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WS8orBYPF9g" target="_blank
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B69PvjqPNkI" target="_blank
I wasn't a fan but he is growing on me.
2. Yahel Hill, 5-9 to 6-1 PG Cleveland Hts
Looks like he might be pretty small. I understood not offering because we had 2 other small guys at the spot but they are gone. Go for it.
http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/yahel-hill" target="_blank
http://www.neohiospotlight.com/yahel-hill" target="_blank
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VkxD9wnaDw" target="_blank
3. Christian Guess, 6-5, Shaker Heights
http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/christian-guess" target="_blank
https://www.cbssports.com/college-baske" target="_blank ... ighlights/
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNPJu5FDW04" target="_blank
https://www.neohiospotlight.com/christian-guess" target="_blank
http://www.cleveland.com/hssports/blog/ ... haker.html" target="_blank
Offers from Toledo and Kent. Seems like he would fit exactly what we need as a guy to play with Lillard and maybe be one of the teams stars.
Just watching videos and interviews Guess and McConnell look like they play with chips on their shoulders that could be difficult in locker rooms or great and make the teams tough. Ross/Mayle and Hill seem like great character and good players.

Re: 2018-2019 Recruiting
I’ve seen Guess play (vs Garfield HTS) , was leading his team til injured on a collision, had to leave game.
Team won rematch w/ GHHS in Tourn. Kid can play.
I DO have Question re: our recruiting philosophy . I looked at some of kids you’ve listed and most have NOT been listed as offered by BG, yet, like Mr. Gues , several MAC schools ARE listed as offered.

Two undersized guards leave, so let’s add another undersized guard.

Re: 2018-2019 Recruiting
Here is a note from way back in October. Both guys still available. Merete still looks like a stud.
2 guys who started following Huger (and a bunch of other coaches) are intriguing. De-committed from Navy (how do their scholarships work? Their roster has like 23 guys on it so clearly it's not how most rosters work.) Both had multiple offers. Merete looks like he is more athletic of the 2 but both look like they could help a team. Both are going the prep route for a year.

Merete doesn’t seem all that big. Going to prep school usually means kids don’t have grades ...or lacking enough core courses for eligibility . Fact that Navy is recruiting him is a positive, but still odd that he’s going prep route.

Re: 2018-2019 Recruiting
3 guys I pulled out earlier that all still are open
1. Marlon Hargis 6-7 190
http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/marlon-hargis" target="_blank
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=meZRLwb21HA" target="_blank
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19Jb7olbO_M" target="_blank
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSO-Y8ytOEc" target="_blank
This guy is my favorite. Super fluid athlete who can shoot and has court vision.
Edit: Don't like him as much on second review but fits that 6-3 to 6-7 athlete type we are looking for. Not more than Murray or Dawson whom we have actually offered. He just played in an all star game with our recruit JoJo fields
2. Seth Pinkney 6-11 185

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bfGqhKJ3vs" target="_blank
https://twitter.com/BigStarRawSport/sta ... 1947729921" target="_blank
Athletic Big who can run the floor. Super thin and doesn't look like has a great frame to add weight.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vcq1xr5OPwo" target="_blank
33 in Black is on our team.
3. Justin Anderson 6-3 170 Archbishop Carroll

Re: 2018-2019 Recruiting
I get the idea of going for a veteran guard. I would rather get a young guy.
Thomas Hickman, Westerville Central, 6'2 2018
http://www.hudl.com/profile/6831951/Thomas-Hickman" target="_blank
https://www.prephoops.com/2018/01/recru ... an-2018-2/" target="_blank
I just don't get recruiting. And it may be because I don't see this guys grades or his attitude or whatever, but to me he looks like a stud. He is getting D3 offers.
Seabron is my second favorite player in the group I have posted. I think that Guess will be the best and Seabron second. Both studs.
Dereon Seabron, 6'6, Portsmouth, Va

Re: 2018-2019 Recruiting
It's tourney time. We tend to have a presence here.
Some bros available
D1
Pick Central
Best player going to Detroit
Best Jr was hurt. He's going to NC
Other good dudes underclassmen
Lorain
Best guys are juniors. Pierre Louis and Grant
Solon
Sr PG Sincere Carry 23,8ppg and 8 assists committed to West Liberty. That might have been a bad decision. He would have been a good target despite his size.
https://www.neohiospotlight.com/sincere-carry" target="_blank
Moeller
Jaxson Hayes is a guy we offered and is going to Texas
Jeremiah Davenport to Wright State
Isiah Payton-Saw an interview where he seems like a great kid. Can't seem to find anything recent with him playing. Has started at PG there for like 3 years but numbers are not great. Assists you would think especially would be better playing on a team with 3 guys going to legit schools. He is 6-1.
Miles McBride-WV commit
D2
St Vincent St Mary
Trotwood Madison
Myles Beleu 6-4. Walsh only offer.
Here is the guy drumstix talked about. I have a feeling about him. They play today at 545. He seems like he has been underrated. He is an explosive athlete which is something I am always looking for and seemed really smart in his interview.
