Well, I heard the presser is possibly scheduled for next Wednesday. The Women's finals are in Columbus this weekend and Moose may be interviewing candidates there.

I wonder if one of the current assistant coaches and an ex-player have a spot on the staff next year? Hope so.

It is too bad that some on here could not show that same respect to our former coach. Whether you wanted her to remain or be fired, some on here did not show respect to her or her staff. I agree with stooges's comment that this site has gone downhill. I have taken several breaks from it throughout the year and it looks l may need to do it again.
I assume that Hockeye John is referring to my comments on Coach Roos and her assistants over the past four years of watching lackluster basketball from this program. To be clear, I have NEVER attacked the character of Coach Roos or her staff, as I do not know them personally. I mentioned that I have spoken with her briefly a couple of times, and have always believed she was a very nice person. Any negative posts by me were simply my views and opinions as to what I’ve seen the last several years in regards to the women’s coaching as a whole, along with the extreme lack of excellence from the players, in their response to that coaching (or lack thereof). Thus, in no way were any of my posts personally disrespectful to any of the staff, although some on this board considers it disrespectful to scrutinize one’s coaching decisions. It appears that most people on this board had stated that it was time for a coaching change, and I am also in agreement. It’s unfortunate for anyone to get fired from their job, but when those jobs pay high dollar for excellent performance, and excellent performance doesn’t happen, then changes must be made. If Hockey John wants to lend his support for continued poor performance, that is his right. But the rest of us Falcon fans, especially season ticket holders and other financial supporters of this program, want to see the most “bang from their buck”. We’ve not gotten that the last four seasons, and it’s time to turn it around.

My guess wasa $205 base and incentives to $265. Accordingly Jodi Kest is listed closer to $400K. and her contract was at an end. I wonder if BG will seek to upgrade incentives

I just checked - for 2017 it was $391,350.00 - 33rd on the list of pay for State University coaches. Men and Women. All sports.

I am referring to you, G-Martin, and a few others who were, in my opinion, disrespectful to her and her staff. I am a long time season ticket holder and a Falcon Club member. I also attend many away contests that the Falcon women have played over the years. I was disappointed with the lack of success of the program, but I still feel that she had one year left to get it worked out. It is fine for you to have your opinion, but I have a right to have one too. By the way, there were some Falcon fans who were disappointed by this move.

I think you meant lack of success in the program. She had four abysmal seasons in a row with one year left on her contract. Watching her twist through a final year would be ugly...really ugly. And it would only delay the rebuild further (cf Orr, Louis and Dakich, Dan) Now was the time to make the move.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Hockey John - you can count on one hand the people who were disappointed with the firing of Roos. Including Roos - it’s you and the Three Stooges.

I know of others, Hawk thrower, so give it a rest. I hope a new coach keeps the academic achievement of the program with better success on the court. There are no guarantees, even with Fralick, so I hope we give this coach, whoever it is, time. Many people here on Ziggy want to fire a coach after the first loss - see our other sports.

Insults and rudeness seem to dominate this site lately. It is no longer an enjoyable diversion for my day.

Excuse me Hockey John but I in no way, shape or form have disrespected Coach Roos or anyone else on any coaching staff. I'm very critical of them but for you to call me out without knowing me is ridiculous. I'm been a season ticket holder with my parents dating back to Fran Voll and Dee Knaublach and John Weinert days. I graduated from BGSU. I too am a Falcon Club and Anderson Club. I have every right to criticize this program just as much as anyone else. My donations to the university go towards two basketball and two football scholorships. I have threatened over the past 2 years to pull my donations but I didn't. Jennifer Roos is a fantastic person. Have the utmost respect for her. I've attended over 15 practices since she has taken over the program. Had her over to my house on the golf course one 5 separate occasions for dinner during the off-season. I wish things would have worked out. She was the main reason of the Sweet 16 run. I wish her nothing but the best but Hockey John this is a message board. A place you can talk about the program and for the past 4 years it's been pathetic. A change was needed. If I were to have Coach Roos over tonight for dinner, and I can't because I'm out of the country with my niece and nephew recovering, but if I could have her over for dinner she would tell me 100% that it was time for a change. I have never once disrespected anyone on any coaching staff. You have the right to your opinion and I have the right to mine.

Well your opinion of respect and my opinion of respect are very different. You don't know me either, yet my opinion continues to get slammed by you. I don't give a **** of how much money you have. Money doesn't make your opinion mean more than mine and others. Yes, this is a message board and it needs to get back to that. Instead, it is a board where people are unwilling to accept opinions other than theirs. I can understand why others that I know no longer visit or participate on this site. I am done commenting on this subject.

Again, I hope the new coach restores our rich tradition of winning without damaging the tradition of academic success that this program has also been known for. With that I am gone.

Well it is probably a given with our new coach their will be a learning curve. Hope to see the ladies program back on top in 3 years. This program was once where CMU and Buffalo is now. It was all started by Miller and Roos. Hopefully we will be back dancing in a few short years.
