I remember this being the case with Jinks and Huger, too, and then they all got individual interviews with them afterwards. I assume they were doing the same this time around.gmartin wrote:Couldn't make it to the presser being over in different country. Watched it online. Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

Yes that's what was planned after some picture shoots but I would have preferred to hear Fralick answer while streaming the presser rather than reading them in an article later.drumstix2388 wrote:I remember this being the case with Jinks and Huger, too, and then they all got individual interviews with them afterwards. Questions were only solicited from the media. Jack Carle was behind me, but he's fully retired (sort of) now. He said had he been the sports writer, he would have delegated attendance at the women's game to a junior sportswriter so he wouldn't have had to watch LOL
The women seemed excited, but I didn't talk to Sydney. In Robyn's system, the post players go to the basket. It was said we might be surprised that some of these players are actually going to become part of the offense and it sounds like when you pass the ball, you have a better chance of getting it back. Maybe like Richaun Holmes...looked like a run-of-the-mill player until Jans got a hold of him.

Good piece by The Blade's David Briggs.

(I agree with him: Ashland probably could have beaten Bowling Green this season.)

Ashland did 3 years ago. Fralick 1st game as a head coach was against BG and Ashland won.

From the Sentinel article..on implementing her system 100% from day one...
We're going to maximize who we are and I think that’s important,” she said. “Sometimes when you start trying to get concrete you can get lost in the process of it.
“I’ve got to figure out this group and find out how to maximize this group,” she added. “When we won the national championship in 2013 at Ashland we played a very different style than we played when we won it in ’17. That’s your job as a coach and the leader of a program is figuring out how to put people in a position to be successful.
That type of pragmatism puts her one up on Dino....

First of all, luck has nothing to do with it. And second, I think we spent enough time in coaching purgatory (between football, basketball and women's basketball) to warrant something good happening.Rocket_Fanatic wrote:You lucky f*#kers! You’ll be back to the top of the conference in no time...

Although Robyn’s husband, Tim, was her assistant, it should be noted that he was a volunteer assistant, so he wasn’t drawing a paycheck where anyone could accuse him of “double-dipping”. And if that were the case at BGSU as well, I don’t know why most fans would have an issue with it, as history shows that the pairing has been extremely successful. In my book, I believe that “ if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!” The ‘powers that be’ need to give Robyn every opportunity to succeed, and if that includes having her husband at her side, then the nitpicking and technicalities need to be tossed aside. Also, I’ve not heard anything about Kennedy Williams leaving the program. Can anyone here elaborate? I believe Williams has tremendous potential at the point guard spot. I would be disappointed to see her leave. The energy is definitely here, and many of us can sense fresh air being breathed back into this program. I’m very much looking forward to watching the transformation, be it gradual or immediate. Excitement is brewing for the BGSU women’s basketball program, and I am very confident that our players will not only show improvement in their skill sets, their basketball mentalities will also be sharpened. Falcons, let us once again restore this program to the elite status we once enjoyed! GO FALCONS!!!!

All that I've have seen is a tweet from Jordan Strack about the same time as when Santoro left. She was also not at the press conference. All of the other returning players were there.elmrfudd wrote:Although Robyn’s husband, Tim, was her assistant, it should be noted that he was a volunteer assistant, so he wasn’t drawing a paycheck where anyone could accuse him of “double-dipping”. I heard homesickness. I sorta had that when I was 19, that's how I got back to BGSU.

I remember a few others who were with us only one season, then departed to play closer to home. Bailey Cairnduff, Noelle Yoder, and Logan Pastor all left after their lone Falcon season. It happens, and not everyone is cut out to go to school far away from home. If Williams is gone, I will miss seeing what potential she could have reached at BGSU.
