According to hockeydb.com, Bieksa played one of four playoff games for the Ducks. He had surgery on a hand in March.

Hammond stops 44 of 45 and outduals Pekka Rinne for a 2-1 win. He was really on his game tonight, made a number of big saves to keep the Avs in it.
BG gets a mention with 12:47 left in the 3rd.

Carpenter took a penalty in game 3 (I think). He did not play in game 4. In game 6 tonight he had an assist on Vegas' empty-net goal. He could have taken the shot himself but passed to a teammate.

During the 3rd period, Carpenter got a shout out from the announcers as "a great pickup at the deadline from San Jose," along with a mention that "he and GM George McPhee are alums of Bowling Green." Always nice to get mentions like this.

For the second straight game, Ryan Carpenter is on the ice for the last minute of play in the game. I think he has found a home. Go Vegas!!!!!

He also forced an interference call about 2 min into the game which led to their first goal.

Ken Morrow won an Olympic Gold and Stanley Cup in the same year. Rob Blake won a Cup with Colorado as a player and one with the Kings as an executive. Emerson has won as an executive. I'm sure I'm missing several others.

The previously mentioned MacLellan won the Cup with Calgary in 1989. He was a trade deadline acquisition from the North Stars.

Mac and Beagle(McPhee) were best friends......them facing each other in the Finals would be an interesting story, not just because of their history together at BG from 78-82, but their history together in the Caps front office as well.
