I have no problem with it. If he did HALF of what the report said, he doesn’t belong in school, he does belong in jail.
How in heck does he come up with 30,000 bond?

Read the article and take one guess how he came up with 30,000 ...Class of 61 wrote:I have no problem with it. If he did HALF of what the report said, he doesn’t belong in school, he does belong in jail.

Re: Bad news coming
After reading the charges all I can say is good riddance. Program doesn't need any more negative attention off the field than it has received on.
The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.
Re: Bad news coming
The part that hurt the most was seeing him kick the woman once she was on the ground. Shoving her down is bad. Kicking her in the head? No. Just no. It is concerning that he was even on the team. Nobody needs that kind of influence.
This incident is on the same level as the 2008 incident with the players breaking and entering and holding some guys at airsoft gun point. And worth noting, both incidents involved drugs.

Re: Bad news coming
WTF? This kid was nothing but trouble from day one...you can't convince me that the character issues weren't there in big red letters when you were recruiting him. Great...the coaches want to ignore that and bring him in because they need to win and he can play, but what about the rest of the campus and the people that make BG their home? Don't they have a right to expect the University to not recruit violent criminals?

Re: Bad news coming
This is not looking good going into a new season. Losing team that needs to get back to a 6 - 6 season. We have been making the news for all the wrong reasons since Coach got to BGSU. Coaches fighting, players fighting. arrests, players leaving and, getting the boot. Where is the positive? What do these players do in the community? Community work? We have to start getting, this team out in the community to relate with good people. Since, our athletic department is strapped on resources what help can the community be for these players? Think about it. Inner city kids sitting at BGSU all summer with nothing to do for most of the day. What do you think is going to happen?
Re: Bad news coming
Here's a question: Does BGSU Football have more arrests this summer or more wins this fall?
Another example that Jinx is a terrible head coach and is in way over his head. Guyton should have never of stepped foot on this campus with his history. He put our campus in danger, obviously from the woman who got her head kicked in. Time for Jinx to follow Roos out the door. #firejinks
BGSU SID: Can you elaborate on the vetting process and the decision making that Mike Jinx used when he brought this crook onto campus?

Re: Bad news coming
We don't know why he was kicked out at Oregon State, and that was also 3 years ago. I have no problem with him getting a second chance here. He went to community college, had a good season and didn't get into trouble. Obviously, he blew it here and will have to face the consequences. I think Jinks still has a team with better character than some of the Brandon years when I was on campus. It felt like there was an arrest on some serious crimes every other week back then.

Re: Bad news coming
Jinks is a terrible coach because he wasn't watching Guyton's every move and making sure he doesn't get in trouble? That's ridiculous. These are young men who are making decisions knowing full well what the consequences are. The coach can't keep tabs on 100 players during a nine month offseason. It's the player's individual responsibility to represent himself and the university in the best way possible. He was already under a zero tolerance restriction and willingly chose to defy that. Not sure what else the coach can do in that situation.CrazyFan wrote:Here's a question: Does BGSU Football have more arrests this summer or more wins this fall?

No, as i mentioned initially, it's "Another example" of why Jinx is a terrible head coach. Coupled with other factors like:jpfalcon09 wrote:Jinks is a terrible coach because he wasn't watching Guyton's every move and making sure he doesn't get in trouble? That's ridiculous. * 2 win season last year
* Giving up 70 points multiple times during his 2 years here
* Losing to a 1AA program, AT HOME
* Having 2 assistant coaches arrested before he even coached 1 game
* And of course bringing a crook onto the team who NO ONE ELSE WANTED because of his baggage
I'm sure there's more, but that's just off the top of my head. #fireJinks

Who no one else wanted? He had scholarship offers out of his CC from Syracuse, Iowa State, and a bunch of other schools. Re: Bad news coming
Those campuses definitely would have been more profitable for his weed business. And no, not a UT grad. BGSU 2002. I just don't like seeing inept coaches allowed the opportunity to continue to bury our athletic programs. I also don't like seeing an athletic department ran with double standards.drumstix2388 wrote:Who no one else wanted? So by your logic, if you get arrested and charged with a crime then your boss at work should be held accountable for your actions, right?CrazyFan wrote:No, as i mentioned initially, it's "Another example" of why Jinx is a terrible head coach. What a terrible argument.
Jinks will be judged for his on field merit, as he should.

And we can run with your workplace logic; If you're a boss and you hire an employee that has a history of drug use, and then that employee gets in trouble for drug use and kicks one of your other employees from a different department in the head repeatedly, you as a boss do garner some sort of responsibility for your poor hiring decision.
