I usually describe "life in the MAC" this way....you can't afford to keep the good coaches and you can't afford to fire the bad ones. So, the bad ones usually stay longer.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Frank Solich is the exception. Whenever he retires, there will be a whole lot of interest in that position. He has made Ohio a special place.

He hasn’t been great, but he also hasn’t been bad.MarkL wrote:Frank Solich is the exception. Whenever he retires, there will be a whole lot of interest in that position. He has made Ohio a special place.

How has he made Athens a special place? Maybe he had some influence in building the freeway to it so now recruits don't have to drive through Nelsonville.

Solich has defined how to win in the MAC East. Just be above average and let dumpster fires be dumpster fires. Chris Kingston’s obsession with Texas didn’t hurt either.

Ha! No, I consider Clawson the best coach we've had since I started following. He dealt with the rise of OU and coincidentally our win streak against east opponents started in 2011 after a loss to OU. One MAC loss in three years after that loss, and coincidentally the MAC losing streak of 2016 started against OU. Clawson said you beat OU or you watch OU in Detroit, and he considered their program to be the MAC model. It worked for Clawson so that's fine by me.kdog27 wrote:Account hacked by bgsu33MarkL wrote:Frank Solich is the exception. Whenever he retires, there will be a whole lot of interest in that position.
