1st Day of Practice Today

Post by CrazyFan »

Ahhhh…..the first day of practice! Hopefully Jinx doesn’t get confused and ends up at BGHS football field, where he belongs. Hopefully nobody steals any of the football players weed which constitutes them having to kick the perp in the head, repeatedly. Hopefully no innocent bystanders just walking by practice get jumped by a mob of football players. And hopefully all the cones, goalposts and equipment are all “accounted for” after all the football players leave practice today. LET’S GET THIS SEASON STARTED!! BREAK ON THREE………(but not break the law)…………..ONE……TWO……….

They say you have to be good at something. You are really good at being negative. Congrats.

I was trying to be positive. I said hopefully that stuff doesn't happen. Any more arrests this year is just icing on the cake towards the most arrests in 2018 labeling for the program.

Looking forward to getting some tidbits today. Media day is Sunday and I suspect we'll learn more about positional battles then.

I listened to JInks' post-practice interview. Mostly fluff. But one thing stood out. He said players are beginning to take ownership of the team, and he said that is something he's been waiting on.

At the end of the awful 2010 2-10 season, Clawson said the biggest problem was lack of leadership. The coaches can only coach so much; the players have to step up and be leaders. There wasn't any of that in practice. Then in 2011 practices, he said he saw some of that.

2010: 2 wins. 2011: 5 wins. I contend that the 2018 team is far more talented than the 2011 team. It probably has more depth too.

So there is something I've been waiting to hear.
